Sir you could make a lot of money even selling just the plans for your build. I just sold my 1994 suburban with my build. I got 7,000 for it. Now I'm looking for a rig with zero computer and a diesel because I retired from diesel mechanics. well done sir, well done.

I have the 2021 XL SLT. I hate the truck just 2 reasons. Reason #1 is the Seats are too Damn small. I'm only 5.9" and 185lbs and it gets so uncomfortable that I have to adjust the seat every couple of minutes. Maybe it's great for very skinny person. reason #2 is the starting wheel size. I mean com one GM this is not a prius. it's big giant so give a 15" or more steering wheel. it's only 14 and not comfortable at all. we have 5 of of these withing family and everyone hates the truck for that reason

Yikes, I thought the whole reason the Dometic fridges cost so much was because of their efficiency. You said it takes 25W as a single zone fridge. My Alpicool TW35 dual zone fridge was $260 and it takes 11.54W with the large compartment set to 35 degrees and the smaller zone set to -4 degrees as a freezer. Glad I didnt go with Dometic. I got app control, dual zone, quick change battery, reversible lid, built in cutting board, wire baskets, and drain pul for easy cleaning.... at a fraction of the cost. EDIT - No wonder your fridge is eating so much power. It would consume less if you powered it with 12V DC instead of 120V AC.
@gtolsdorf
@gtolsdorf 3 ай бұрын
That was a mistake. My starlink is what was taking 25w per hour. The fridge would keep at 34 degrees for about 48 hours on 1000W power bank.

Amazing build! I have a '22 Suburban that I've been contemplating building out. All builds I've seen up to this point have been older gen models, yours is the first I've seen of the newer gen. Thanks for sharing, this is great.

No, but in retrospect could have used a lift. I spend a lot of time on off-roads, and bottomed out a lot. Truck is not known for its clearance.

I've seen a lot of "build videos" for SUVs and Vans. This interior is one of the best I have seen for "fit and finish" and design. Gibbs has a very good sense of style and design. As he introduced each feature, I was impressed by the cohesive design for a single guy on the road. Outstanding! i wish I had the tools and workspace and vehicle and could do the same. Well done!

Wow Nantucket craftsmanship? Nice work. I've got a 2010 Yukon XL and wondered if I could make the newer Yukon work, love the look of the older trucks. The Yukon's been very capable off road with a decent lift and good AT tires. Perfect for a weekend warrior like me, living out of it for up to a week or two at a time. My build's nowhere near as nice as yours though!
@gtolsdorf

I didn’t build it on island but that’s where I spend about 40% of my life. Truck has been awesome and after 21,000 miles (most of them dirt,) and even a trip down Baja, everything has stuck together. One thing; would def do a lift if I had to do it over again. Ive bottomed this out a tons of times and the running boards are wacked.
