Thanks for the video. I've seen several videos of this thing going all over the place and can't figure out why it seems to have been sent on such a weird route.

Timed too slowly to run during the day unfortunately.

@@nickg2762pathed as 60mph same as most freight which also runs daytimes
@nickg27626 күн бұрын
@@kentrailexplorer still better to run at night where there’s no passengers to interfere with I guess. There can’t be too many paths in the day timetable for a 60mph working? Aside from essential things like rhtt.

One of the big problems with running freight trains in the day is that although freight trains run at a similar speed to commuter trains, the express trains run much faster and catch up. Before it was gutted by road-lobbyists, the HS2 project was originally supposed to concentrate the InterCity trains of three mainlines to be focused onto a new high-speed line into Euston, to free up capacity on the existing mainlines in central England. This would have allowed a lot more stopping trains and also more freight trains. Anyhoo, likely this train might have potentially caused conflicts with things like Thameslink, the Gatwick Express, InterCity trains into London terminals and maybe even the Stanstead Express, if they had delivered it during the day. I believe that Liverpool's 777 trains were also delivered at night. And I think trains containing spent nuclear fuel are also sent through London at night.
