Hopefully this will help me. My car loses coolant, but it doesn't appear in my oil or seem to come out the exhaust. The loss seems to be significantly worse in cooler weather, though it is acting up more in the last week.

Do you just empty the coffee out of the gauge once it is brewed? I don't get how the coffee gest to the cup with this mod.

It doesn’t…this is just to test pressure on a portafilter I dedicated as a gauge. You use a normal portafilter for brewing

You gotta put a valve feeding out from the pressure gauge. Let it build to the desired pressure, slowly (or quickly) open the valve to release the shot into your cup. Be sure your Frothing Jet Device (FJD is installed. The FJD ships with the new machine but many (if not most) people lose them right away. { :):):) }

Great video. I’m having exact same problem with my 2010 CC. Same engine. I’m having trouble telling if it’s heater hose or flange. I already had both plastic water pumps replaced. These VW’s just like leaking coolant.

Check also if the vacuum pump is leaking oil. The oil and heat also destroys this fitting really fast.

Follow the line from the expansion tank and there should be a disconnect for a temp sensor near the bottom front of the engine. It will let a good amount out but not all.

I just went through the exact same troubleshooting to find out the exact same issue in my 2009. It took me about 45 minutes it wasn't hard.

What tools did you need for the job? I’m pretty sure my car has the same problem and I’m trying to see if I can change it myself.

@@marlonmillan7895a long Phillips screwdriver a short Phillips screwdriver and and I think some of the screws for the airbox are just like that star bit pattern. Get the airbox out of your way it looks like you can do it without getting it out of your way but it's much easier if you just remove it first

How did you drain the coolant? Assuming you had to drain the coolant before disconnecting the coolant lines/hoses. Thanks!
@mattaudia4968
@mattaudia4968 3 жыл бұрын
It’s higher up in the system which means you won’t lose much but you could remove a coolant line either below the intake (should be more accessible from underneath with plastic tray removed) or just let it spill out into a pan and replace the quart or two that you lose.

Thanks for the explanation and part # - is it necessary to disconnect all of the other hoses just to replace 06J121132G coolant flange? I can't find a video of complete disassembly

I honestly can’t remember but I don’t think so based on my recollection. I pulled that hose because I thought that union was bad but all you need to do is pull the hose off the flange and swap it

Whats the connector called where the upper heater hoses connect into heater core? Specifically the coolant line that is connecting right above upper heater hose. The nipple where the coolant line connects to melted into the hose
