This is some of the finest EVH video that I have ever seen. Great work documenting this genius in great form. Thank you.

Thanks a lot you tube for another f****n commercial advertisement in the middle of something special for all the advertisers out there if you keep putting ads in the middle of something I’m trying to watch understand I don’t intend of use your services or by your products. Stop putting in the garbage KZbin, and let us watch something and enjoy it without being bombarded by useless advertisements.

1978....Cotton Bowl Dallas Texas. We all waited in 105F heat until the Sun went down. Watched 12 bands that day at The Texas Jam. Van Halen came on about 8pm and the place went chaotic. I was 20 and my young wife 19. Man what a show. Truly gifted man with his brother. The two others were not bad either. I'll never forget it. Van Halen's 1978 album had come out earlier that year. It blew everyone away.

Thanks for the camera work on this video! ESP @ 6:36 - 8:02. I remember hearing, it on the DD album … and EVH wowed me. I probably didn’t know the number of strings on a guitar then! I think I just stared at the record spinning, floating in the stratosphere. What an artist he was!

You nailed this TheFuge1138 !! F’ing as good as it gets brother. Great video/Great Audio ! I saw VH in August of ‘79 at the Cape Cod Coliseum. Then again in the front row right up against the plywood in front of Eddie in Pembroke Pines,FL. in Jan.’84 and many times after that as well! I regret not seeing them 2 nights after this show in Mansfield,MA. 8/1/15. Lawn seats were $25 a week before the show. Didn’t feel like driving 2 hours to a show alone like I would certainly have back in the day when I was a much younger man with loads of energy. Oh well I have great memories of seeing them in their prime to reflect on! R.I.P. Eddie🙏❤️🥲

A larger than life figure who spurred millions of boys to pick up a guitar and try , i was one of those and even though I could never get the two hand tapping down my small career as a guitar player ( 30 years) was owed to this guy, RIP Eddie you were the greatest

I saw VH when they were the lead in band for the Grateful Dead at the Cumberland County Civic Center, general admission. Ed did an insane riff and smiled at me with that shit eating grin just feet away from me. Dude is an epic legend, rip I made my way to the absolute front because I saw David Lee Roth doing backflips in a Superman cape and was like... What tf are these shenanigans? Turns out, it was history.

Is that a concentric volume knob? Might just be the angle but it looks like the volume and tone knobs would let you adjust either pickup. Would be pretty sweet if EVH offered that.

So with all due respect to Eddie was his playing not to par anymore here in this stage in his life or is that very shitty audio?

@aaronscottvideo yes seriously He seems sick , looks tired And it's no secret he was doing shows to the very end because he needed the money

EVH was amazing! However I can't help but feeling that this solo was too scripted and in way undermined his classics by almost parodying them.
