That UI isn’t even made by Harrison which surprises me. It’s actually the UI from the Opensource DAW it’s based on, Ardour. Which really surprises me. Because when a big company forks an opensource project they usually change the UI but Harrison didn’t.

The issue you have here is simply trying to do something that wouldn't be done in the real world (the Forum world is very different). Sure Reaper etc has a feature, and it makes sense there in a technical way. In Reason, Ctrl Drag will copy, which is valuable in a few situations but not what you think as a clone of Reaper. It seems to me that a compressor (or whatever monstrosity that VST is) on every single part of the kit is (popular but) excessive and contrary to the concept of "making one of many" ie Mixing. When drums come to me in many tracks I Bus them to a Drum Bus or as a Rhythm Bus and process the Bus. A Kik or Sn may want unique processing and I do it ONLY after listening to a natural balance - commonly with a broad groove compressor in action so I can hear the Kit as-one. Never as individual sounds that will become further and further from a balance as this process leads to. :-)
@mackmelodeeofficial3 ай бұрын
man, it just looks diffrent from reaper: it's just drag and drop between a channel that's the exact same. the cables connect automatically. But you're right in that point, that there could be an option like a shortcut to put multiple plugins on pre selected channels at the same time, good point!

IMO all the specific personality plugs are useful and fun. Bit of eye candy to them, they do offer packaged in ways of manipulating audio in this case for drums. The waves plugins are not pointless but they are designed with specific use cases in mind.

the best way is to put the plugin on its on aux channel, then send all channels to that aux channel. then you blend the aux channel with the other channels. this should be done on all reverbs, delays, and effects. You should never put processors on each channel except for compressors and EQs. . Any Hall or chorus reverbs or delays or special effect plug ins should always loaded into its own separate aux channel. You always send what ever channels you want that processor plug in to effect to that specific aux channel. How to do this is to add that plug in to your rack. toggle to the rear view of the rack. Run cables from the main mixer aux send to the input of the unit plug in. and run cables from the output to the aux returns, then on your mixer you can send whatever sound modules on whatever channels to that aux channel and you will hear the plugin working on that aux channel.
@jamludentertainment3 ай бұрын
I tend to disagree with putting this, on AUX. it is more like channel strip. it has an option for using it as an AUX, also in individual drum. Including using it on a room channel for live drms.

Peak controller is a very powerful plug-in however the amount of work necessary to get side chain going in FL studio is excessive. In ProTools and ableton u can just select the side chain source on the plugin you want to side chain and your good without having to have your volume slider swinging all over the place. Which can be especially annoying during the mixing process in the case of automation for example, if you wanted to automate that volume fader, that’s now swinging all over the place you need to route that track that’s being sidechain to another bus then you can do automation from that bus that’s not being controlled, which again isn’t an issue. But I’d rather the side chain affect the signal and not the faders. Nonetheless peak controller is still a very powerful tool in a lot of situations I just personally don’t like it for this application. Great video!

If you EQ first the compressor will react to what ever EQ changes you make so every time you will have to change the compressor settings , an unstable practice. Compress first then EQ.
