I have an old 1985 murray lawn and garden tractor. Same type rims. The way you changed the rims is correct. Someone had the rims bolted on backwards!

Kohlers that I've used are cold blooded. One was on a Terramite. Anything much below 50 it was a challenge to get started. Sounded just like this one.

This is not how to test a fan clutch. Worked fine here, with a very loose clutch, but if its a good clutch, fan blades can get damaged. I've seen a metal blade come off a running fan, because it was damaged, and out balance.

Yeah weird. Not sure what happened. Looked like the guy relocated the axle from factory spot but idk why one wheel turned like that.
