Comments, comments, poured into the maw of the eyeless demiurge. In desperate supplication the adoring horde feeds their voices to the machine that haunts their idol.

SHEPPARD MENTIONED RAAA- how dare you compare them to AJR, Sheppard is leagues ahead of them. Best song is "Coming Home".

The segment on Being Alive brought back all my memories of performing it at my university's musical theatre society leaver's service about a year and a half ago, and really made me hope we get more showtunes recommended in future episodes

I'm pretty sure Geno Samuel hates how the internet only knows him as the 'Chris-Chan documentary guy'. He's got so much other stuff out there to check out, including music and documentaries on other subjects.

Superbloom is one of my favorite albums of all time! Ashton just did something with it that grabbed me by the throat and it hasn't let me go since it was released. I bought a record player because I wanted to own the vinyl of the album so badly.

The Kavinsky fellow makes music similar to a band I really like called The Strike. That synthwave 80s sounds always gives me the feels.

I have a question: is there a minimum amount of time one needs to be a top level patron to get a song into a Grab Bag Reviews? Because I'm strongly considering to get a song into the rotation but I can't commit to that for a longer time period, but knowing that me occasionally tossing a few 20 dollar bills your way a few times per year (before dropping down to a dollar or pausing my patronage, depending on my financial situation) to get your takes on some songs I love would be cool.

I've been pretty deep into the k-pop crowd for the past year now (at least for 3rd-5th gens), and while I have come across fromis_9 and GFRIEND, their stuff's...fine. 'DM' by fromis_9 is alright, but I think my top song from them is 'LOVE BOMB', which is actually pretty cute. As for GFRIEND, I may have to check out 'NAVILLERA' again. I think I like that song; I just don't know where to rank it. My go-to song of theirs is 'MAGO', an excellent disco throwback (at least I think it's disco).

Appreciate the love for Nothing More here, they're one of my favorite bands of the last decade and a band I right away think of when I think of an alternative metal band that's able to sound accessible without sacrificing any songwriting chops. Devin Townsend's also one of my favorite artists and such a fascinating person. It's funny you compare him to Dream Theater because I actually saw him on tour with Dream Theater last year, and when DT played an encore performance of their song "The Spirit Carries On", they invited Dev onstage to duet, along with Tosin Abasi of Animals As Leaders ripping it.

Liked the video but found a lot of the comments on CanCon weird. The vast majority of Canadian artists you like owe CanCon for gaining the initial traction that led to you discovering them in the first place. If you look at the Canadian presence on US charts before and after CanCon, things are pretty significant. Plus if it wasn't for CanCon we wouldn't have Call Me Maybe (Carly got signed to Scooter Braun after Justin Bieber heard the song on Canadian radio, she wouldn't have been in the position to make the song without her previous album having CanCon hits, and the song is co-written by the dude from Marianas Trench), and do we really want to live in a world without Call Me Maybe? Only true CanCon understanders see the vision for a brighter world.

Ironic that this video is 2 years late but also a week too early to properly put the ending footnote to Lil Durk. I don't listen to genocidal music. But in a way he's lucky and I think he knows he's lucky that it ended this way and not the other way. Time for the industry and listeners (YOUNG LISTENERS) to turn the page.

I almost nominated The Deepest Sighs The Frankest Shadows for Grab Bag Reviews #11. It is such a beautiful and hopeful song. Like this song is what I want to be: instead of cynical and closed off, I want to be unbearably trite and cheesy and loving of all things. I love it so much. I’m glad I passed on nominating it since it came up here anyway, because in the wake of “recent events”, I instead nominated another gang of youths song off the same album. Actually this entire album, Go Farther in Lightness, is excellent and if you haven’t given it a whirl yet please do. And if you think that that’s too much of a commitment, the last 6 songs are an unforgettable run.

Seems like a-lot of Spectrum Pulse viewers are fans of this series, myself included. I see a-lot of his best songs of the year entries throughout these videos and it is nice to see. Also, Amphibia is great, along with DuckTales (2017) & The Owl House. I, as well as others group these shows and several others from the late 10's into the early's 20's from and not from Disney (Infinity Train, Hilda, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, etc.) into a category I find difficult to name. High fantasy cartoons is a good way to describe them, but I'd call them post-Gravity Falls, post-Tumblr, semi-syndicated fantasy cartoons. Shows clearly influenced by the early 10's cartoons like Gravity Falls, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe that mix chill, episodic episodes with breadcrumbs of lore with arc-based episodes that build on the underlying plot. I personally love a-lot of these shows, even if I was never on Tumblr, and if you like any of the early's 10's examples I listed, I highly recommend the new crop.

Given that reaction to Interlude IV I'm gonna change tact a little, next song I request from that EP will NOT be War! (the last song on the EP as we have been heading there ever since I put in Curtain Call), it'll be my favorite song from the EP. But before that, another 2 random songs (originally was gonna be a MLP song but I decided to go for a IDK How But They Found Me song.... the MLP song will be next XD)
