They shipped overnight after the holiday weekend. The fish didn't sit for 2 days in a box because of the holiday

1 have 1 left from the original 2 orders. Battled fin rot twice, and learned the hard way that little discus are the cheapest but have nothing for an immune system. I have found 2 local sources for good discus that are quarantined and more mature. I wonder if mail order with older discus would have been better...

ouch cost of the survivors is steep,,, i have done this with next day koi and 120 fish in 2 boxes... lost 50% in next 3 months flukes and fin rot,,, its sad... no offense but I'm thinking a old established aquarium would be ideal for the little guys now do i want to risk somethingspshy? @@boxerdad5677

You picked a terrible source of discus. You got fish that were to small and the tank wasn’t set up for young discus. You had no chance.

Our shipping was over $100 because it's overnight

@@boxerdad5677 I was gonna order just 2 and try it out it would only be $20 for 2 small discus, until I realized the only option for shipping is $100. So I’ll probably just wait and get a handful of them

I am happy with the experience, but next time I buy discus I'll get older fish. The young ones don't seem to have developed a strong immune system yet.

@@boxerdad5677 yea I’ve heard this, the ones I was thinking about ordering are 2.5 inches, what size were the ones you got?

They refunded the ones that arrived dead, but they can't guarantee what happens after you get them.

I read the reviews, good and bad. Your water and conditions are what's gonna decide how they do. Live plants are amazing at keeping the water ammonia and nitrate free. I test my water weekly with a master test kit from API and my numbers are always zero. Even goldfish can't survive in crappy water.

@@boxerdad5677 this is true, I think I’m gonna give them a try. I’ve been on the lazier side with testing my tank lately but all I had in my 75 was a beta so there isn’t much going on. How are your fish doing right now? Would love to see a video close up of the colors and size!

@@tracemiller1519 well, we currently have 5 left, several battles with fin rot have taken most of them. A few have flat out disappeared. I don't want to be a buzzkill but it's just part of fishkeeping, especially with such young fish. Discus are hard to raise from being so young. The ones we have left will eat from my hand and follow us from one side to the other. We plan on more discus but they will be at least 3 inches.

@@tracemiller1519 water temp and shipping stress are the big ones. I've had so-so luck with the little ones even when buying locally.

I've lost several fish, battled fin rot twice, finally got the temperature settled in at 84°. I don't think any of this is a result of Somethingsphishy, it's definitely a result of young fish and the challenge of raising Discus. Older more mature fish would've been easier but also more expensive🙂

What temp did start out with ? Have you been monitoring your ph ? I just ordered some from same company .

@@jackysmith3131 I started out at 78, I don't mess with the ph because these fish were raised from local waters and from what I've seen messing with ph is a real passion. I hope you have a good experience with your discus!🙂
