Myself and my dad were here at Mallory watching and taking photos. I knew your car from Time Attack already, told him you'd be one to watch, and you really did make brilliant progress through the race! Gutted the day came to an end the way it did, is our Boxing Day tradition to go watch the Plum Pudding meet. Great video nonetheless, and a really useful insight. Cheers, looking forward to seeing the car compete elsewhere.

@@Sprintcup1 thank you Russ. Not as such. Running a very busy business and competing very sadly means there was little time back in 2011 to log the build. All the parts used are in a category of its own on our online store though so you can ‘build your own’ as it were. That might be of interest to you ?

@@richardjones2811 yes of course. We had a very powerful platform at our disposal with the turbo charged TU5J4. We have been building them for many years reliably in excess of 400bhp so there was no testing and development needed. At the time F1, world touring car and WRC had gone 1.6 turbo so it was fitting with what was going on globally in motorsport. The space was greater in the engine bay, which meant I could focus on lengths and diameters of boost hoses and exhausts to make it super efficient, it looks prettier and more importantly for me it hadn’t been done before, it was something different. They are the main reasons.

I had an 1985 1.6 back in the day. Still one of the best handling FWD cars I've ever had the pleasure of driving.

Same here but 1989 G plate. Had power steering. I’ll never forget my young days in my 1.6 GTI. 1st gear used to pull 30mph in milliseconds off the lights😂. This 1 on the video looks awesome. I’m glad we both survived though pal, obviously top drivers we are👍

had a couple of 90s mazda 323 one of them a GT version with a 130bhp engine with some tuning on top of that and lightened interior as well as a tight spring setup, where like a gokart.

Is that with a Quaife 6-speed sequential?? What's the engine displacement? Must be a lot of fun to drive, I used to take my 205 Rallye 1.9 on track, club racing 😊

Is there some issue with the front end? Seems when you are on the power the wheel is off center but when you are braking it looks like you are steering to the left slightly to keep it straight??

The car seamed quicker in a straigtline aswell Darren when it was Manual. The sequential seams to be much longer geared. Hope you can get the front end grip sorted seams like it just wants to go straight on the faster corners

The sequential gearbox has lower gear ratios, as there is now 6 gears we can spread close then together even more and still have a higher top speed. We were only running low boost and ther terminals were 1/2 mph different so it’s very positive! The front end issue is now resolved thank you 👍🏻
