Hi. New sub from Canada. Great video. You have powdery mildew on some of your zucchini/squash leaves. Spray 1 part milk and 3 parts water onto "all" the leaves in full sunshine. It's not effective unless you spray it on when the sun is out. Powdery mildew can kill your plants and infect the others. It will definitely affect your harvest. Keep applying the milk/water every couple of days until you see the plant recover. If it's not recovering, I would pull it and don't put it in the compost but in the garbage. Some of your plants would benefit from a mixture of water, dry active yeast, and sugar. If your interested I can give you the recipe details. I look forward to following your journey 🙂

Where's the sun coming from? The corn might be casting a shade onto the squash. I'd cut the flowers and hit it with some liquid fertilizer. Fish fertilizer would be ideal

Thin your carrots a bit and the remaining ones will get much bigger. Maybe leave an inch between each carrot. You can make carrot top pesto. Don't wait until the carrots die off because they will flower instead of dying off. Lastly, tomatoes and carrots are great companions.

Do you find that you're spending a lot on your garden each year? I noticed you do all potted plants. The cost of decent soil is pretty crazy. It looks like you've spent hundreds of dollars on the soil alone. I like the idea of it, but it just seems really expensive.
@UrbanSuburbanGardenАй бұрын
Yes, the upfront cost was a little high, but I plan on reusing the soil every year. The garden with the green bag pots has all reused soil from last year. I just reamed soil with fertilizer and compost.
@lf2334Ай бұрын
@@UrbanSuburbanGarden oh wow. I always heard that it was bad to reuse the previous years soil. Obviously not because your garden is beautiful. I'll be doing a garden similar to yours next year now that I know the soil can be reused and infused with compost. Thanks for the info!

For Nitrogen use the nitrogen fixing plants already in your garden. Beans for example. Nitrogen nodules are at the roots so if you constantly sow these plants you can sacrifice them to mulch cover others. You can also literally blend up beans and bananas for nitrogen magnesium potassium and vermipost it for top dressing. I am doing something called "living mulch" using a moringa tree which accumulates nitrogen as well as other minerals. Co planting it with heavy nitrogen feeders and then chopping back the plant so it's roots die back and release nitrogen. I am testing it in this year's container garden.
@UrbanSuburbanGardenАй бұрын
That's great info and in my future gardening I plan on use all those natural resources. I'm just getting my feet wet. This is my second season.
