I've seen this on Subaru's with a female inboard joint connection. I'm working on a 2010 Mazda 3 beater and it has severe play. Put a new reputable brand CV axle on it and the play is less, but noise when accelerating is more. 180k miles. MT. Old axle 6 ball round housing like this one. New axle 3 large ball fluted shape.

The sound is coming from the next part after the axel. It connects to the transmission, don’t know the name to it yet.

No, it's not normal. Happened to my speed3 and I had to replaces the intermediate shaft. The axle was fine

How did the car feel with the bad bearing ? I’m getting a low rumbling sound whenever I let off the gas but whenever I brake it goes away, I was thinking it could be my axels since I just got my wheel bearings replaced.

My R55's friction wheel is making the same noise, but much worse. It ate up my water pump pulley's rubber and got worse. Replacing the fucker, as well as the water pump pulley.

I think it's the high pressure fuel pump...I used the old one with 50k miles on my new engine.

I have a mini when you first start it no noise and the about a minute later its sounds like knock knock knock knock what could this be it sounds fine then all of a sudden knocks Idk

That's actually best case scenario usually. The friction wheel won't engage for a minute or so, so it isn't touching the belt. If noise starts AFTER start up, your belt usually has some chunks missing in the grooves. You won't hear it until the friction wheel touches it. So, replacing the belt usually fixes that.

Buy the new model with the BMW 4 cylinder. I think it s 2016 +. The French motor in the n14 sucks.

Did the vibration go away when you replaced the harmonic balancer?

It turns out that one of the three bolts was not tight enough and the balancer shifted. Eventually it then stretched the serpentine belt so i had to put a new belt on after i properly seated the balancer.

Lex2007 I was going to buy a new balancer but the rubber attachments on the old one is just fine. I haven’t looked at the bolts yet. I’m on my second belt this month.

no, its the crank pulley/harmonic balancer which was loose and wobbling and stretching the serpentine belt.
