I heard a great take on drum covers, which was ranking them based on how likely you could get the gig. So some covers, while spot on, maybe didn't quite capture the feel, or you could tell they were playing at their limit. Other covers, you can hear and see the confidence, even to the point of them making some artistic choices that maybe weren't in the original. With this cover, I'd call it a "would get the gig" cover. As in if he sent this to Iron Maiden, and they needed a tour drummer, it would put him on the list of drummers they audition.

Growing up, I'd always hear about how great Neil Peart was, but never about Nicko McBrain. To me, they're pretty similar in how musical their drums are, the tightness of how they play....just feel like Nicko is extremely underrated. This cover is top tier.

This was my gateway song into Maiden. The middle section with the guitar echoes had me hooked in my teens! Definitely top 10 Maiden songs in their entire discography at this point. The drum interpretation and mix was perfect on this!
