Your idea is similar to mine. Most people and centers around me focus too much on learning and teaching grammar; they place too much emphasis on it. When I first started learning, I chose a different approach compared to the majority. I'm not sure if my method is correct, but I still see myself improving every day without having to do any grammar exercises.
