One fine song, done just right. A different daughter this time. She is great for backing him up. It is as if her voice is another version of his.

Wow, the great Al Perkins. Another unsung string master, from the Burrito Brothers to Manassas w/ Stephen Stills, and the Nash Ramblers w/ Emmylou Harris and beyond.

Gary Ferguson on drums! Here's a guy who could put together a rockin' trio with his buddies Vince Gill & Glenn Hughes, having played extensively with both. I'd fly anywhere & pay any price to see that lineup!

He sounds just as good as when he did it with PPL! Sure is missing a LOT of hair, tho! 🤣 Vince, a true generational talent, and so much a nicer person than a huge mega star...AWESOME!

@17:11 I felt Vince’s ears. Lol I would have been pissed. The look on his face. Priceless. Looked like at first he got electrocuted. First thing that crossed my mind with an old blackface deluxe reverb amp. Then I listened again, yup the sound guy thought he needed volume, he got volume ! Wicked.

Sound on this recording is terrible. Regardless of the comments about the hall/monitor mix, just listen to left and right channels of this recording. Right side is clean, left is muddy and delayed significantly from the right.

Musicians must tip the sound man in advance of the show to ensure a great stage sound that allows them to hear what is going on.

The first time I saw the Sweethearts of the Rodeo was c 1976 at Sweetwater Cafe. I just wandered in not knowing a thing about the club. I heard these girls and said they are stars. Unfortunately there was no one in the club but a waitress and bartender. Often they played to tiny crowds at the club over the years but they were so good. Glad they made it big.
