I didn’t take the pen!! If you look closely the pen changes from the original pen i was holding to a green pen, none of their pens worked and Gary got our DJI pen out of our vehicle, so this is the pen i put back in our vehicle, we left their pens there. We didn’t leave our pen because it was the only one we had at the time…..We didn’t film Gary getting the other pen and we cut out the fact no pens worked…it’s called EDITING…..Can’t believe I’ve had to explain this and people are focused on something so trivial, we didn’t notice it when we made the video that it would look like i took a pen, we just cut out the crap to make the video better….THANK YOU HOPE THAT CLEARS IT UP……..😅

I couldn’t remember as we were here a while ago, spoke to Gaz and he has a great memory, none of the pens worked, if you look carefully at the footage the pen changes, it’s a DJI pen out of our vehicle (we stopped filming when Gaz went to get our own pen). BUT we put their pen back, we kept ours because it was the only pen we had at the time 👍

Thanks for the Tanami drive through . We really enjoyed it especially your photography . We think Turtle on your dash is looking weary . He , like you is well travelled . Just a question or 2 , what time of year was it when you did this trip and do you tell anyone where you are going and your eta for safety reasons ?
@turtletrackstravels2 күн бұрын
Thanks, glad you enjoyed our trip, we were there in September. We don’t normally tell anyone but this time we did tell a friend because we had never driven through a desert before and didn’t know what to expect. Surprisingly, you do see other vehicles (not many at this stage but can imagine it will increase as they complete more of the roadworks) on the road. We told our friend a eta and if he hadn’t heard from us to call someone 👍
@fleurneumann84302 күн бұрын
@ Many thanks for that info . Was just interested as we have driven a short distance of the Tanami from Halls Head but for prospecting in August a few years ago . We also are solo travellers (not full time and from Perth ) so when on the road so carry a PLB and love finding campsites away from the madding crowd .
@turtletrackstravels2 күн бұрын
No problem, prospecting? Have you ever found anything? Just curious
@fleurneumann84302 күн бұрын
@@turtletrackstravelsYes prospecting but not usually up that way more Northern Goldfields and east of Kalgoorlie and I don’t go , its a couple of mates for 4/6 weeks at a time in the cooler months . The gold is the bonus if found , it’s the off grid , out in the bush and as you’ve mentioned, the glorious night skies in the middle of no where .

We will be picking up our Crusinator in March in Queensland and heading to WA on our first touring leg. Good to see you doing the Simpson Desert solo I am yet to convince my wife as she is reluctant of the too remoteness in particular the distance in case something goes wrong. Very encouraging..
@turtletrackstravels3 күн бұрын
That’s really exciting, we’re thinking at looking at some Troopy’s but not sure yet. Have to say the Simpson Desert has been the best experience we’ve ever done. If she’s worried about the remoteness just buy a personal beacon just in case but if you go in the pub like we did, you get to know who is going to be on the track 🤩👍

@ don’t get me wrong we absolutely love our setup but we want to ship a vehicle to Indonesia and overland across the globe, thinking we may need an inside space BUT the jury is still out, we haven’t made our minds up yet, might even look at different lift offs if they’re not too heavy 👍

Wow what a great trip really enjoyed it 🤗 3 questions…….you have 130l tank and 2 Jerry cans of fuel did that get you from halls creek to Alice ? Do you have to have a permit to drive this road ? We’re going to be doing the Tanami in July but from Alice to halls creek then up to el questro where did you camp on the Tanami ? Thanks guys great episode one I was really looking forward to and didn’t disappoint 🙌🏻
@turtletrackstravels10 күн бұрын
Thanks guys, glad you enjoyed it. We didn’t need a permit to drive this route. Yes we had enough fuel to get to Alice but we did do that top up in the Aboriginal community to make sure we had enough. We camped at Wolf Creek and another free camp that was on WikiCamps but can’t remember the name of it (it had windmills). 😍
