Beware ! the Eurostar's manager told me I could buy a metro ticket in the 'bar' but when I got to montparnasse ticket checkers made me pay 50 euros for having an invalid ticket ! then they make complaint difficult 😡

Just discovered your new vlog, so excited as I’m going over to Paris for the Christmas markets. But can’t get the podcast to come up at all on Apple’s Podcast. I’ve used the show name, episode names, etc. Have your other one running on there. Any tips?

Rive Droite is not only rich, luxurious, exclusive: the northwest arrondissements are poor and dirty, and there are streets you dont see a single French person but only Africans.

@@lorraine6947The enormous immigration is just fact (go anywhere north of the north+west railway stations!), and it is ignored by almost all Paris (online) tourist guides. What is the reason that this important fact about Paris is not mentioned? Bernd

I've been living in arrondissements on the right bank and working in the 7th and 16th. Since I've been spending so much time in the 5th and 6th, I'm a left bank girlie now. 💅

Well for me it's eastern Paris, more working class and left wing vs western Paris more bourgeois and right wing. And left bank except near the peripherique or in some areas in the 13th arrondissement are a bit more working class.

‘Always a battle as to which bank is the best..”. Uhm, I’ve lived in central Paris for 22 years and never heard Parisians argue about this even once. We talk about our ‘quartier’ not which bank we are on.

@@lavinder11 OK. I’ve heard this usually in terms of the quartier or arrondissement and what and whom its good for: For example, there was a 30 year old single American guy who took an apartment in the 16th and everyone teased him about how, as nice as it is, that was not the place for someone like him. People talk a lot about the ‘ambiance’ of a neighbourhood and the price per square metre, what is up, what is changing, where there is ‘animation’ (lively social activity). Just saying I don’t hear this generalized as broadly as Left vs Right bank, but rather this neighbourhood vs others.

@@lorraine6947 16th: wealthy old families, large apartments to accommodate families with adolescent children (unlike most of Paris), high end restaurants, a few shops, not much else. No real night life. It's the district you move to when you have growing children but don't want to actually move to the suburbs.

I believe that each district of Paris are very different, it's not just a left/right bank matter. The feeling can even be very different in two places from the same district.
