Good stuff mate. Greetings from South Africa. We bought a fendt 718 last year. Watched your videos also before buying. Fendt still a new company in SA. We will be starting seeding wheat this Monday with it. I also recently started posting videos on youtube still to shy to speak on it thou. lol Some Fulvic acid,Fe and Mg may help the barley to recover. Keep it up and keep the videos coming

Im very interested in your wheat practices. Can i ask you a few questions regarding your practices? How long are your growing season? What are your typical NPK applications on your avg yields? What is a avg yield there?
@thesolefarmer7 ай бұрын
Plant in October generally winter wheat and harvest August...yields are usually between 7.5-10 ton hectare. P and k are applied depending on soil same results and N is around 600 kg of 34.5 n per hectare split 3 apllications

I think half a crop I'll be lucky with conditions...and 30cm row spacing with seed boot split 100mm

I had one of those drills and it never put the correct seed rate on the seed boots kept blocking water sat in the slits from the leading tines and I had the best crop of blackgrass I have ever grown. I was pleased to see the back of that thing.

Have tm800 trelleborgs on a 20 plate724 at 5.5k hrs that are 40% worn on a tractor that does most of the land work on a spud/veg/arable farm. Bothy rears were sent away to be checked over/vulcanised at 4.5k hrs due to sidewalls giving up and one getting a puncture while ploughing in the side. They might not see the harvest with fresh cracks appearing. Got a late gen6 724 12 months ago with tm1060 trelleborgs but the side walls look pathetically narrow to try and let pressure down much even though they're meant to be 'better'. The above 18 plate tractor will probably get a set of fancy uprated spec bkt's as it would be staying for another 6k hrs atleast moving into a run about carter jobs in time as a contrctor who does alot of the corn work and ploughing (in this job timelyness trumps the budget) gets on very well with them in second line work after fancy michelins. The irony is theres a set of 95+% tm800s off the bosses spray tractor in the shed that only go on for a few weeks in the spring to help prep land until row crops are needed as a 6930 can double job a pair of trailed/mounted sprayers until work load gets too much again but he's lost faith in trelleborg.
@thesolefarmer10 ай бұрын
Seems to be a lot of people that have issues with them once you delve deeper. A company that will soon be left behind I guess.
@GRASSorMUCK10 ай бұрын
@@thesolefarmer We would have ran trelleborgs against standard michelins/bridgestone etc and still do on 6920or30/7530 deeres fine but when he went onto start having a few 700 series it's like the shift from 650 to 710's and a 1500kg higher base weight tractor before putting on 600kg wheel weights the tyre design just wasn't able to last. Then for some reason new fendts seem tied to trelleborg.
@thesolefarmer10 ай бұрын
@@GRASSorMUCK yes it seems trelleborg are the go to standards on fendt now...I have heard there's been quite a few with issues recently so maybe that will change in the future. I guess there is good and bad with all tyres it's just the back up service that's the most important
@Agri-Farm-UK10 ай бұрын
Trelleborgs are awful in every way try to get them off your tractor in any way possible bkt would be better or Michelin if you can justify it.

Hi. I had trelleborg on last fendt and I thought they were fine but this one is a different story. As its under warranty they are not going to pit michys on it unfortunately. Just want them to sort the issue but trelleborg showing true colours at minute

Why do you run your back tyres so hard when you are using the cultivator, even though you have vario tyre grip system, you could run them back tyres at 10 psi

Love that 726! Great idea with blanking off the bucket, simple but effective! You guys are lucky to be getting some sort of a break in the weather. Down here on the south coast of ireland we are having a horrendous spring. Every 2nd day pouring! Best of luck for the rest of the drilling!

What tire size do you use? Does your first furrow connect well, or do you have to make it work a little wider to throw some extra soil on where the tires are compacted the soil?

Hi. 650 rear tyres and it's variable width front furrow so I adjust it to match up. It works fine but I wouldn't go any wider than 650 for ploughing.

No pressure, you shoot when the moment is right, we'll watch these then 👍🏼 Because I see that there has been a lot of development.. One topic outside of the season could be a farm presentation in general, where you started and how you got to the current point, and what in the future? As well as a machine presentation, what machines you've had, what you have now, and what thoughts about them 👍🏼
