The circular indentations are the rear part of hay racks. The semi circular feature I've heard is the remains of a covered walkway so exercise could be taken.

Very interesting, I spent many happy hours around this area in the 1950s, it was very overgrown then, camped near the fresh water well/spout. I had a clinker built boat called The Turbot which we used to row out to fish for codling etc at 12 to 13 yrs of age.

Best shots I have ever seen of waves crashing into the shore/rocks, so interesting and powerful, expected rocks to be totally round and no seaplants on them?

Beautiful journey, Paul. You picked a great day to take the drone up, with the blue skies and calm sea. Magical place. Love Beadnell, but the whole coastline is unrivalled.

Awesome! There’s something on the high tide line on the north east corner of rocky Island , like an old winch? Or maybe part of a ship? I keep meaning to get a long exposure of it. Just at the bottom of the cliff next to the Watch-house museum.

Cheers Stu! It's a Bollinder Two stroke single cylinder diesel engine with winch attached to a Norwegian type trawler. A very common engine for older type trawlers.

Real sad to see all those trees down, especially when you think how long it took them to grow. To be honest, we got off real lucky in Co Durham, compared to other parts of the country, with the recent storms, so long may that continue, cheers Alan

The smooth shiny granite boulder (and there are many black ones) arr terminal moraine brought download from Scotland during the ice age. On Whitley cliff by the putting green you can make the out a layer of them embedded in the soil.
