I could tell immediately when the lady in the red dress got in the box, she sat on her knees. It requires 2 very physically fit women to pull this off. One that can lay back with her legs folded and the other one laying folded over forwards. She's in that other box the whole time.

I don't know the show they were on here but I think it was probably in the late 70's. His first daughter was born in 1980 and I heard they stopped doing the straight jacket/rope bit when she got pregnant. Thanks for posting this. I forgot just how funny he was. A lot of people only remember him from Night Court but I remember shows like this and his special.

The impressive thing here for me isn't any individual effect, it is the relentless barrage of them. The speed, dexterity, and brute force practice on display here is absolutely mind boggling. It's a routine that almost beats the audience into submission, where I didn't get a chance to take in what I had just seen before something even more impressive occurred. It was beautiful and I loved it.
