Why is there only ever 1 of these fans paired with a jet engine on the other side?

Oh boy, loved seeing these guys when I was out fishing, sadly Upper Heyford is no more and the aardvark is no longer in service. I love and miss the eighties. 😪

Remember seeing this at the time, it was the undoubted star of that years show with it's display. Truly jaw dropping the impact it made. Thanks for posting.

While high-bypass turbofans sounded like a roaring V8, the UDF sounded like a V12 IIRC

It's a real shame, it would have been incredible and interesting to travel on a plane with engines of this type, hopefully one day planes with this type of engine can be manufactured and enjoy traveling on them 🤔😔🤩😍🌎✈️🛫🛬🗺️🌐 🏝️🧳💺.

Always felt a lot of Western pilots never really pushed their machine to the limits. Certainly not the case with the Soviets at this airshow.

It was criminal for the Russians To Destroy The Magnificent An-225 even though it was not a military aircraft. I'm sure the Russians did that to destroy Ukrainian morale. Obviously that failed and ukrainians are right now kicking the Russian asses
