If you want an easier time taking on NUCLR-type Pokemon... STEEL. STEEL is the definitive answer. STEEL-type Pokemon take half damage from NUCLR-type moves. Therefore, the best starter in this game is clearly Orchynx.

Technically no, since its part grass it becomes neutral. Which while yes, neutral is better than 2x or 4x. A lot of nuclear types, mainly 3rd stagers or shit like Nuclean, god forbid Urayne itself have so much raw stats, that even a neutral hit will MELT YOU. There is only 3 true counters to nuclear types in the entire game, 4 with a bit of finesse. Number 1 is Garaewl, only pokemon that is pure steel, so actually resists and its not a bad pokemon. Number 2 and even further 3 is pure nuclear pokemon, which by the point in the game this is, is Nucleon and moreso Hazma. Nuclean fully resists and as long as you don't give it only normal or nuclear moves, its pretty go Spatk will melt nuclears, Hazma full is immune to nuclear type and gets a move that is super effective and stab against them. Last one is Harptera. This dude will 100% die if it gets hit, but its atk and speed are so damn high, let alone if you have moxie (People that say gale wings is better are actually mentally challenged....why do you need prio on a 130 spd pokemon, there is all of like....2 pokemon that have a prio that can kill you, bar that you outspeed everything....) That this thing WILL SWEEP any nuclear pokemon, Urayne included with ease.

Wow, you did good in the battle. I have lost to then twice now and my pokemon are higher leveled! I've got the water starter and even mega evolved at level 60 it can't do anything against Curie. I'm not sure if I can ever win at this point.

She *is* quite tough. I forget if you can leave and head back to the route, but if you can, there should be some berries that reduce the amount of damage you take from a super effective Nuclear type move; those should help immensely.

Speed is the name of the game in the battles with CURIE. Remember; all Nuclear Types, including Urayne himself, are all weak against every other type out there. All you have to do is make sure you got pokemon that are not only strong, but _fast_ so they can mope the floor with CURIE's team before they even get the chance to knock out any of your pokemon... especially that Nucleon of hers.
