Another great post. Not sure, but I think this is Rowberry on the keyboard since it's the same radio session as "The Same Thing" post. Plus, Valentine's guitar has that superb crying string stretch that helps make the "Animalization" album for me.

Has that "Gin House Blues" feel, so probably from the "Animalization" era. Excellent cut. Thank you for posting.

OK, this is NOT the original. It starts w/Eric Burdon saying it's a Chuck Berry song (he's wrong too though - Little Walter recorded it before Chuck and I think was written by Dr. Clayton who recorded it in late 30's). I'm guessing it was on a lot of guys set lists in early 50's Chicago. Lot of great info in the description though.

I discovered Rory Gallagher at the age of 54 by chance, looking for good rock guitar players. It's been the best discovery I've ever made, after Dire Straits and Mark Knopfler when I was 16. If I had discovered Rory at 16 he would have been a rock idol to me ever since. An exceptional performer and composer who cannot be ignored and who cannot be forgotten.

i saw Rory in 1973 i did not know who he was.. he opened up for Deep Purple at the time when they were peaking , Rory and his band were on fire and blew the roof off the place. he left the audience in a frenzy after doing an encore the crowd was standing on their chairs demanding more chanting his name over and over.. as good as Purple were back them he made it difficult for them that night. the next day i went out and bought everything he made and became a fan for decades
@_Cheeseburgers_4 ай бұрын
When he opened for Aerosmith, his act finished with the audience chanting his name and requesting an encore. Aerosmith came out anyway, and the crowd threw bottles at them, so they stopped the event.

The best of the best, Rory Gallagher. The younger generation needs to listen to this gentleman genius. When I saw him in Belfast I was in awe, from start to finish 😲. Gerry McAvoy is another bassist that never got the credit he deserved either alas outside the musical mainstream. I always thought Gerry & Cliff Burton would have a wonderful jam together. RIP Rory, ye will never be forgotten. 🙏 🐺
