Yup, this bassline is out in the stratosphere somewhere. Not for normal humans. Whew, that is mind-blowin!

Jason, dig the Guild Starfire. Do you find the neck to be more narrow than other bases, say a Jazz?

Awesome video dude!!! Pino is a genius bassist. He never plays too much, in fact, the moments of silence and the sharp entrances are what makes this line so fantastic.

Great tone! What is that bass? Is it active? I see humbuckers, right?

I saw Berry Oakley play this bass line...up close at the original Allman Brothers concert April 1971 in Florida. Part of Berry's sound would be with his using a pick (Like Carol Kaye). I am a harmonica player 51 years and have several other connections with the Allman Brothers too.....played with the "Poindexter Band" who are on the back cover and played on Dickie Betts' first album "Highway Call", my family were friends with him (same town he lived in), etc. LOVE Berry Oakley. I listen to all types of instruments for good groove and inspiration since I play Jazz, Blues, Bluegrass, Swing dance band 10 years, etc. Berry was one of those RARE bass players I hear that can play "busy" ant still hold down the groove solid. Seems like sometimes when bass players get too "fancy/busy" the groove suffers. Nice video and playing! Thanks

I'm pretty sure the bass does the harmonic part. Other than that 👍🏻
