No your sights are elevated to high ... I have all 3 calibers in R.I. they all shoot great still to this day I've had zero issues

have you thrown one in a case gauge to check wall thickness? Thats one thing I saw was a problem when converting from 6.5 to 8.6

Its So Ridiculous "Q" chose to use this weird 18mm x 1.5 thread for muzzle devices that Nobody else uses or manufactures in the US. Of course, the muzzle devices are expensive, because of this. I will be glad when 8.6BLK gets SAAMI spec'd in JAN/Feb 2024. Hopefully then. we will get mainsteam rifle companies making these barrels with normal 5/8 -24 threads someday. Thanks a whole lot "Q" for a bad selection of muzzle devices. What a bad idea, I am sure he wants a monopoly as usual but it wont last. I cant imagine other barrel makers going along with this sillyness.

I have tried to size the 308 then 8.6. I think I may not have sizing die set up correctly. I'm not getting the same neck length as you. The case should go all the way up to where the case holder is touching the sizing die? I'm using a Lee turret press also

yes you can start with 308 brass. I don't like using it because it takes much more force then the 6.5 brass but if that's what you have and can get 308 works. I think it takes more force because the shoulder is very heavy and you are basically making the shoulder into the neck. you might have to turn the neck down with some 308. this is of course on my press with my dies (lee).

you should use "rock set" instead of loctite, and the carbon buildup will seal the gas block over time.

G’day mate , appreciate your videos on the 8.6 & practical attitude. Ultra fast twist barrels & those specific ultra long bullets just aren’t practical for a average guy in Australia. So I’m going to try & do something similar based on a Lee Enfield 303 . Using a full sized 303 case & 1:9 twist barrel or faster . Most likely using 180-225 gr conventional projectiles mostly , with some ability of using high bc 285-300gr even down to subsonic levels. I think a custom bullet mould & soft lead & mabey some trickery to the bullet nose , might make for a more cost effective option. If you can think of anything that may help please share your thoughts. Thanks subbed.

That is a magazine issue. And It might need to adjust your sights since the built-in sight is adjustable windage and the elevation

I'm deciding on a good all around...self defense...range gun....and CQB RIFLE.....WOULD A BLACKOUT B GOOD? OR GO WITH .556 ? GINNA GET BOTH.... BUT I can't find a single channel that agrees....I know it's good to about 300meters...but

The blackouts are intended for short distance engagements. You can get away with further with the 338 blackout (the 8.6) due to the high spin rate, iirc you have issues past 100yd on 300 blackout but don't quote me on that. People do hunt with 300 blackout, they probably know a way around that. Both in subsonic are intended for suppressed use. Both only really need a change of barrel for use assuming you have a receiver that takes the cartridge. 300yds is the bottom end of DMR usage, I'm willing to argue you'll be fine in CQB. From there, it's a matter of what you build for. The 338 blackout's Q-Fix is a scout rifle, very light, very easy to transport. You can probably find a way to get that for your 300 blackout.
