Just before "Birdland/Badia" i love the last intervention of Wayne on the duet on soprano sax (he make me feel John Coltrane's phrase)

The Roxy was on the Sunset Strip in LA, never knew there was a New York City venue too…Am I wrong ?

In the picture at the top of this there is a neon sign for the Rainbow-which is/was most certainly in LA. Also, look at the skyline. No high rise office buildings everywhere like in NYC; Even in 1976.

In keeping with the continuity of my other comments, just today, on Wayne's career during this period, your posts, in particular, answer and fill in a lot of holes, of that proverbial question asked, by bassist Jaco Pastorius' tune, 'Where's Wayne?' Insiders may pose the same question, in two senses, and tenses, whether the composer meant to ask if/whether Wayne's location MUSICALLY whilst playing as an active bandmate in Weather Report was TBD/indeterminate, or if his physical presence location after leaving the band was sorely missed? It could be one or the other. I tend to think and construe the composer's intent was BOTH/ AND. Your posts are active in reproduction of that magic use of one's imagination. The magic's BACK one more time my friend! Go again Main Man! I'm glad I discontinued and didn't miss one. Keep finding, going, and posting Percy!

Main Man: Another priceless gem in remembering Wayne. People may forget, the 80's era was still pre- internet, and it was just far back enough to relegate fan bases of everything and everybody to reliance on printed media to keep up with the itineraries and latest news of their folks, and stuff. Seems kinda ancient by today's standards; right? That use of one's imagination left a huge "black hole" in following media, science and tech, sports to a lesser degree because it has been covered heavily, and daily traditionally speaking. Anyway this is a 'time and reality check ✔️ 'and any of your posts definitely do the job transporting us to different places and spaces! We're all getting older, together. RIP Master Wayne!

It was always "awesome", experiencing any /all PMG 'LIVE' shows'!!! My absolute fav, was also my 'last', for "Imaginary Day", at the Seattle Opera House. What a sonic treat! I still 'beat 'myself, for skipping the "Secret Story" Tour, though 😩💔 P.S. RIP Lyle - His album, "Lyle Mays" with Bill Frisell, doesn't get enough respect, imho. Cheers!

I saw PMG in 2005 in Mesa, AZ, and Lyle solo on his Fictionary tour at a little venue at Spokane Falls Community College in late '93 or so.
