hey!! i'm a prospective student and i want to know your honest opinion about smth. even though this double degree is clearly quite tedious and tough, it doesn't seem to pay well. In fact, it seems to be the worst paying major of median starting salary $3,350. Can I ask why this is the case and your thoughts about this?
@charsunivlog6 ай бұрын
Hi! I can't really speak for everyone but here are my own personal thoughts about the matter, I also definitely think you should talk to other students during any open houses too as the curriculum will also be different for all new incoming students to the course since it is no longer with Beijing. BUT regarding being the worst-paying major I think one factor to remember is that traditional Chinese medicine is quite a different career path compared to any other career because after the degree you still have to take the licensing exam. Then you can consider what sort of work you want to do when you are a licensed physician. In Singapore, many of the larger companies are actually more non-profit/humanitarian organisations and that significantly reduces pay, other than that it's a lot of privately owned clinics so it is harder to find employment in that sense (but there are more hospitals hiring tcm too so that's another avenue). I also think many of my peers who intend to pursue a career as a physician have intentions of eventually opening their own private clinic so it's quite hard to quantify the money you can get in this field. additionally in Singapore there still is a conception that only old senior physicians are effective so there is a lack of customer rapport when you first start out which will also significantly affect how much u can earn at the start, but imo you have to start somewhere, and then you're future growth really just depends on what career choices you make, whether to stay employed or to be an entrepreneur in a sense :)
@charsunivlog6 ай бұрын
but to me I chose tcm because of how useful I feel the information and knowledge will be for me. yes the course is tedious and stressful and you will really question your choices when everyone else has way more free time and holidays and you are just memorising for hours on end, but the knowledge is so much more applicable in your daily life cause you can really see an effect in terms of your own health and your families health when you try to apply what you learn. so for me I personally don't regret my choice and I do enjoy what I learn and I would recommend it to anyone who thinks they might be interested in tcm too. hope that helps!

Hi! Love your video, what was it like to drive in Jeju, like are there any special traffic rules? Do you just use your credit card to pay for parking? I'm planning to rent a car in Jeju as well but have no experience driving in foreign countries so I'm a little worried. Thanks!
@charsunivlog2 жыл бұрын
Hi thank you! The traffic rules are slightly different from Singapore considering they drive on the opposite side, there are things like turning right on a red light, “unprotected left turns” and things like that, it would be good to take a look online for driving guides in korea before coming so that you’re not so lost like we were driving there. But you do get used to it quite fast and for the most part we didn’t have any issues driving, you get used to the amount of speed cameras after awhile too. For Lotte they only accept payment by card I believe. We used YouTrip which is a debit card technically so I think both credit and debit is accepted, it just has to be card payment. Hope that helped and your driving experience will be a pleasant one too!!

Hi ! May i know about the covid requirements required. For example the pcr test & pre departure art. How do we go about getting it done. i will be heading to jeju in Sept and i couldnt find much details about the pcr. Thanks in advance!
@charsunivlog2 жыл бұрын
The PCE requirements constantly change so I’d advise to just keep an eye out for their MOFA page announcements (overseas.mofa.go.kr/sg-en/brd/m_2435/view.do?seq=761395&page=1) If an upon arrival PCR is required, and you land in Incheon, you can easily book the PCR at the center in Incheon airport itself, otherwise you can check on their list of approved hospitals in each province and get the PCR there. The predeparture ART (24 hours before) or PCR (48 hours before) can be done at any of Singapore MOH approved Centers I personally booked with swabstation.

Hi! May I know how long did you all take to clear the immigration and customs after landing at Incheon Airport? Thank you!
@charsunivlog2 жыл бұрын
Hi!! We actually cleared immigration relatively fast, I believe we were out within an hour but that was mostly cause we bumped into a tour group from another flight so the queue was slightly longer at customs. If you have all the paperwork prepared like the Q-code for vaccination that aspect actually passes very fast!
