It is sad that the University has decided to not rebuild the railroad after the wildland fire. It would have been a great tool to draw the public to the ranch and showcase how the ranch is being used to teach future generations.

I played Taiko drums with Nikiko when we were younger. She was always so outgoing and driven even then. Glad to have stumbled upon this video.

Just to clear things up a bit, humans get injured and/or killed in Rodeo FAR more than the animals. Chill out, hippies! Go Mustangs!

Humans choose to participate, animals don't. Abuse of sentient beings is fundamentally unacceptable.

@@denniskurmann554 that’s true. But this isn’t abuse.

@@samevans2601 Check out 1:30 ... wonder why they fade out from that shot? Cows and horses are certainly more robust than humans, but getting pulled apart by their neck and hind legs is painful. This rodeo also hosts calf roping competitions where young cows are chased by horses until they're roped by their necks and jerked in the opposite direction of their velocity. Don't say their anatomy suits them for this, calves often get injured in this event. Once abruptly stopped, the cowboy then runs over to the animal (which is surely in shock), picks her up, slams her onto her side before roping her hind legs together. All for time, may I add, so don't think there is regard for the animal's comfort. What's happening here is clear, it just needs to be recognized by us humans. Tradition does not justify savagery. Be skeptical of such traditions, evaluate them critically, then it becomes apparent that this needs to end. Don't brush this off, think it through. No rebuttal is adequate, change is the only appropriate response.

@@denniskurmann554the animals are treated better than the people are 90% of the time. The animals are referred to as athletes and live in luxury compared to ordinary livestock. Chill out. The animals can’t get injured because it’s too much money and training lost.

@@josh661 Not true, the calves getting roped absolutely get injured. It's not too late to start doing better.
