Oh, that's so good. I see these too, many of them every day everywhere. It is infuriating and disappointing . Well done for your good efforts to expose these inconsiderate morons.

In South Africa, it is unfortunately common for many individuals to disregard the rules of the road. There is a noticeable lack of adherence to basic traffic regulations, such as correctly navigating traffic circles, coming to a complete stop at stop streets, respecting single-lane restrictions, and prioritizing overall road safety. This widespread disregard can create challenges for maintaining order and ensuring the safety of all road users.

It seems STOPs and traffic lights have become redundant these days. The amount of people I see flat-out ignoring these is astounding.

Ja normal behaviour for sure, even a Multiplus can't predict the future :) I wonder how a 15KVA Quattro would perform (more iron = more stored energy). My electric impulse nail gun is the one and only load that my 3KVA Multiplus cannot drive, just does not have enough iron in the transformer.
@plonkster
@plonkster 6 жыл бұрын
kibi15 It has a toroidal transformer with a ferrite core, so not really iron, but your point is valid: it does have more magnetic material than some of the competitors.

Hi, trying to register on powerforum to discuss about Victron and Axpert stuff and haven't been successful since weeks. Are you able to help? My username is 9xsolar and it has been pending registration forever. I'd love to get your insights on my system and more feedback and would rather it happen on the forum for everyone's benefit. Hope you're able to help!

Appreciate your response! :) Unfortunately I'm yet to get access.... perhaps the forum restricts users from other countries? If you participate elsewhere, I'm happy to go post there to get more feedback before I make any purchasing decision. Thank you for your time!

Yet to get any response :( Anyway, I'm hoping to get Multiplus 3kVA version (I currently have an Axpert PWM version). When I used the axpert, the solar production never went more than 600w (I have 1500w of panels) so I installed MPPT-150/70 (the small one) from Victron and the production crosses 1000w now. Axpert is only used as an inverter while MPPT takes care of the solar production. It's paired with 2x 200ah c20 batteries in a 24v system. I'm hoping to upgrade to a 48v system with HA02 balancer and new c10 batteries. I want to get the Multiplus but a few questions first : 1) I want it to be grid parallel but no feed-in, as my meter will still spin and I'll get priced for anything I feedback. Can we make sure the multiplus doesn't do that? 2) Can I make the multiplus use the batteries in a particular wattage? Like, I want only 500w to go out of batteries in the evening while the excess should go from grid. If grid is available that is. 3) Multiplus 3kVA comes with additional AC output that doesn't depend on battery (i.e disconnects when grid is down) - can this output be powered by solar + grid in the morning? Like, heaters or air conditioner for example. 4) I have a BMV702, and MPPT and this inverter soon - can they be paired with the RPI? Do I need a mk3 to usb for the inverter to communicate with RPI ccgx? I don't want to buy the expensive ccgx as I don't need the screen. 5) Realistically, how much of an overload can be put on this inverter in grid-parallel mode? I intend to connect water heater and air conditioner together on the output side (that disconnects when grid is down) and I'm hoping that's possible? Finally, I tried as much as I can to find all the threads from you and TTT and they've all been very helpful. I'd still like to participate in the forum but if not, it's alright nonetheless. Thank you for your time, and I'd be looking forward to your response here. Sorry for bombarding with so many questions!

WOW that's marvelous. That save you a lot o money not having to buy the Victron color gx Is there a way you might tell how to have this in windows?
@plonkster
@plonkster 8 жыл бұрын
That's a recording from the remote VNC console running on a real CCGX, so no money was saved here :-) The software is officially available for the Beaglebone Black and for the Raspberry Pi. The Rpi version doesn't come with any official support, it's mostly community driven at the moment. If you want the cheapest option, go for the Raspberry Pi version. The CCGX gui is rather dependent on dbus and assumes a unix base throughout, so it won't port to windows easily. The point of this video was to demonstrate how the BlueSolar scans for the max power point. You can see it sweep down to half power about three or four times. This was in response to a forum post where owners of other brands complained that theirs restarts from zero and takes a full 30 seconds to get back up to power. I made this video to show that such a scan is common really, but there are better ways to do it than restart from zero :-) I should update the description on the video.

Ah ic. Thanks for explaining. I have no idea wat a Beaglebone Black and a Raspberry Pi are, i am a starter at this, so first i have to get a CCGX.
@plonkster
@plonkster 8 жыл бұрын
The BBB and the Rpi are small board computers (SBC) with an ARM processor and various ports and types of memory. The CCGX is itself based on such an arm-based development board made by Texas Instruments. As a result the code -- which is mostly just Linux -- ported to these other boards very easily and you can now run them on these boards instead. You can also buy a Beaglebone Black from Victron themselves. It has all the features of the CCGX, one additional can port, but no LCD. Costs about half the price of its big brother, and you get support in the package. I don't see it on their website or on the price list yet though, might take a few more weeks to get stock.

Thanks again. Like i said i am new at this. I'd better buy the CCGX and go on from there. Right now i have a BMV702 only so it will be a huge upgrade.
@plonkster
@plonkster 8 жыл бұрын
I assume you have at least a BMV and a Victron inverter and/or MPPT of some kind? Because I'd say that adding a CCGX to a BMV-only setup isn't a very cost-effective endeavour. If you just want to log some battery data to VRM and you only have a BMV, I would really advise that you go with one of the cheaper boards. It also provides the opportunity to get to know the setup first. If you have long-term plans to obtain more blue equipment, then that obviously changes the matter somewhat. Just saying :-) Btw, I'm the guy who did the raspberry pi port, or rather, is in the process of doing it. As of last week I am confident that the port is 99% done. I publish the images here: 45.55.253.39/venus/images/raspberrypi2/ Instructions (slightly outdated) here: github.com/victronenergy/venus/wiki/raspberrypi-install-venus-image

I am of the opinion that the preference for automatics is one of the main reasons for all those cases of SUA.
@plonkster
@plonkster 13 жыл бұрын
Over here in SA we have 6-speed manuals. We don't have the 2.4 liter engine though, only a 1.3, 1.6 and 2.0. We also have the 2.0 Diesel, which is the one I drive. A Diesel with a 6 speed manual makes for a wonderful long-distance machine. I read some stats somewhere that suggest that 93% of vehicles sold in the US are automatics. Over here it is the exact opposite, and if you do the drivers test in an automatic you get a limited license that only allows you to drive automatics.
