Possibly one of the finest tracks from early/mid 80ish. My brother came home with a copy of this back then and I was hooked! What I didn't understand was my bro's a reggae dj!?! Now I understand that music shouldn't be pigeonholed. Great music lives on an on. B 😏

I came in on Zanzibar closer to the end ( 86 to like 89) so classics like this where going off the scene for the newer HOUSE that came and still dominates, but I wish I couldve got there like 84, I heard d stories of T Scott and Larry Levan still playing there sometimes even after Larry got it Paradise and Tee got Better Days, I did at least catch Larry Paterson twice, that was a LOT OF FUN LOL, and of course Mr. Tony Humphries killed it with the Philly Sound.
@skfj679 жыл бұрын
Also I did catch Paradise Garage once, the same year it closed, it was the August before matter of fact, Lola did Wax The Van and Go Bang, Arnold Jarvis did Take Some Time , AND THEN !!!! LOL, Larry Levan played Zanzibar for 2 Saturdays ( I only caught the first) He had it rock in, no wonder there. If anyone caught the 2nd please hit me with the 411.

+skfj67 I Remember this record back in 1986 and for me it's an interesting mixture of 'The Last of the Jazzfunk Records' and the emerging house music scene. A great record then and still is now in my opinion. Never tired of hearing it.

Dude, I came to the US from Haiti in 76 at the age of 14 and I was at Club Zanzibar in downtown Newark NJ in the 80’s getting down on this beat and still getting down on it in 2021. What a classic!!!
@robertwilliams28922 жыл бұрын
I can really relate as well. I started going to Club Zanzibar in 1985 and continously went until 1990. I remember Larry Patterson usually playing on Friday nights and Tony Humphries playing on Saturdays. Zanzibar was an experience.

By the time the bass line comes in it is way too late. Trying to avoid dancing to this is not worth the trouble. So join us! hahahahaha.
