OK in your opinion what radio is better this radio or the cc skywave ssb 2? The cost is not an issue. I'm looking for the better radio of the two.

I think that the reviews of these small radios should also be focused on their performance while in bed (night time) in order not to disturb your partner, like: Is the lowest volume low enough or too high for your ears? Are the "clic" sounds too loud when pressing buttons? Is there a "buzzzz" noise at the lowest volume? I appreciate it if you can answer these questions in this model.

Just got mine and I can't find a way to turn on the back light full time. It's version 078. It would be nice to have a power off default where the time is displayed in the largest part of the screen. Perfect for using the radio as an alarm. I know it would add to battery drain, but this could be explained in the manual. What do you think?

CC pocket is my favorite. Cant understand the comments of poor sound quality. Its amazing for its size. I use mine constantly. Its not a boom box. Its a pocket radio.

My D-808 Literally got delivered a few hours ago. My first impressions are that it's a great radio, especially with the current discounts. I actually got my first SW radio earlier this year (XHDATA D-219) thanks to your video. The next radio I'm planning on getting is the Tecsun R9700DX.

I love the current version, black with amber. That gray case just didn’t do it for me.

Got the new version with USB C port and the raised Step and ETM buttons. Works great. The radio came with a battery, too.

Hej Todderbert, thanks for the review. Oh yes, the XHDATA D-808 is a lovely radio. I love my Sihuadon D-808, but I'm going to buy this newer, upgraded version of the XHDATA D-808. Also, I have the original R-108 (Radiowow), but I'm also going to buy the newer R-108. As you know, Todderbert, Nils is a radio lover, and I buy a lot of radios, but I can say that both the XHDATA D-808 and the Sihuadon R-108 are wonderful radios that I really like, and the little R-108 has a great sound too. I currently own a CC Crane Skywave and the Tecsun PL-330. Having those options available, although this seems like a very nice radio, it doesn't seem like this really adds anything to my listening. Would u agree @todderbert ?

By the way, I live about 150 miles SW of Chicago. I am 40 miles NW of Peoria IL. Just thought i would throw that out there.

Todd I started with the D219 for a little over $9 and really like it. But I wanted something I could tell what frequency I was on. So I just purchased the D109-WB for $38 on Amazon. I have only used it 1 time so far, but I also have the D808 in my sights for later on as well.

I have one. It sounds great and works well. The 20 year old Walgreens battery did not leak. I popped in a new battery and it fired right up. It picks up static near my cell phone. It squeals near LED nightlights. It's a cool little toy.

Very good review I have the same AN 200 loop antenna. I use it on my Tensun PL 310. I tried it to my Sangean ATS 909X and NRD 525 receiver. How does the D-808 air band compare to the Eton Elite Executive? Despite living in a south-facing Chicago high-rise apartment, I seldom receive air signals from the Elite. I can see traffic in and out of Midway, and although there's an occasional building, I have a clear line of sight to the aircraft. Unless I'm using the Elite improperly, I'd say it performs poorly at air band.
