After watching the entire video I'm wondering, have the makers of this video ever been to Chiba? If I could recommend a great Chiba journey, I would never mention peanuts, but I would say, absolutely, from Narita heading East, and from the Tone River (Tonegawa, border with Ibaraki) heading south, it's gorgeous farmland with beautiful birds and other wildlife. If you head down to Tateyama, you will enjoy some of the most beautiful scenery, like it's actual Heaven. And of course there's all the stuff you overmentioned such as Tokyo Disneyland and the Aqualine. Narita Airport isn't great just because it's a main airport. Even those of us who have the pleasure of living in Chiba go there for the shopping and restaurants. Haneda is nothing compared to Narita. Haneda is just an airport like you would find in any small to medium American city, but Narita is a real experience. Speaking of Narita, that's one of the two or three most important temples in Japan, and a wonderful place to visit. In terms of the experience, it's better than Meiji or Asakusa. Wear your hiking shoes, because it's dynamic. And the surrounding town is absolutely wonderful, whether you're there as a cultural tourist, or there to party all night long.

I've lived in Chiba nearly half my life. If you asked me what things I associate with Chiba, peanuts would not be on the list. It's more about the fantastic balance of the ocean, forests, and farmland in one direction, and being on the edge of one of the world's greatest metropolises in human history--much of which is labeled as Tokyo, but is actually in Chiba. Chiba Disneyland, Chiba Olympics, Chiba International Motor Show, Chiba International Airport, Chiba LalaPort Shopping Mall at Chiba Bay, ... We are both the quaint and quiet countryside, and engine of what Tokyo claims as their own. Don't be a Tokyo hillbilly. Come IN to Chiba!

Also of note : don't miss the whale meat dishes of Wadaura, the hiking trails and the underwater observation tower of Ubara Utopia in Ubara, the famous Choshi Dentetsu electric railway of Choshi and the Minamiboso secret Ninja Village.

Almost no one eats whale, and when they do, it's to make a weak political statement. Whale is not a staple food source; you can't find it in the grocery stores; and they aren't hunted in any traditional manner. There is no valid reason for Japan to claim whale is important to the cultural survival of the nation. So give it up already.

Hi, thank you for posting this video. What hotel do you recommend close to “Shirahige Jinja⛩", and any particular restaurant or place to eat Omi beef 🥩?… thank you.
@AnabaJapan Жыл бұрын
There are many hotels in the Shirahige Shrine area, but if you're looking for a more authentic Japanese experience, I would recommend Ryouriryokan Toriirou (料理旅館鳥居楼). It offers a genuine Japanese atmosphere and excellent cuisine for reasonable price. I believe it's located approximately 10 min away by car. As for the Omi beef, you'll find many popular restaurants in the Otsu area.
