Great video, thanks. One comment about the 9000 and other MEC progressive loaders - Keep an eye on the primer drop. Make sure a primer not only drops every time the handle is pulled, but that it is oriented properly. Occasionally a primer is not dropped or it flips. When set up properly, these MEC machines allow you to load quickly and rarely just go out of adjustment. Have you added the power unit yet? One thing that concerns me is you lose the feel for any obstruction or problem that you may notice when operating the press manually. Any comments? Again, thanks for posting. Cheers!

Was the co-pilot autistic? He never stopped f--ing with shit the entire flight, never sat still. Would it have taken airline crews in the ‘30s and ‘40s that long to get both engines started? Kind of scary that people like this are giving rides in a C-47. I was relieved they didn’t groundloop the thing on landing.

This may be the "Aluminum Overcast" B-17 that periodically takes veterans for a nostalgic ride. As a veteran I had a complimentary ride in a B-17. Monroe is the nearest large city to my hometown of Charlotte.

May all their brave souls rest in peace ps thanks for this video, brought tears to my eyes as she left the ground. The last solid ground many of those young boys ever felt

Nothing wrong with a pilot taking his job seriously. You're mis reading him. The man pays attention to detail. I would want to fly with a "Care free, everything is fine don't worry about it pilot". I flew the C-47 in Vietnam. The WORST problem I had with it was NOT in the air. It was on the ground, on landing, when the tail wheel lowered to the ground, as speed was reduced. IF the wind was coming from the rear (called a Rear Quartering tail wind) the vertical tail wound up acting like a HUGE "barn door". Now...under NORMAL operations....when one wants to turn left on the runway, one has to depress the left foot pedal. By doing that the vertical tail section swings to the left. But with that HUGH "barn door"swinging to the left, a rear, quartering tail wind from the right, HITS that barn door, and makes the aircraft pivot to the right, around its center of mass. In other words, it makes the aircraft TURN RIGHT! The fix: When the tail wheel lowers to the runway, one has to "bicycle" the foot pedals so one knows which way to depress them to get the "desired turn results". Many of our pilots joined the "garden club" because they did not know this curious quirk of the C-47.

I love the Patton/Turtle tale! It’s presupposed that all Turtles own a ‘donkey’ … leading to the correct response. “You bet your xxx xxx I am. “. I really enjoyed this man’s story. Glad he made it. My mom’s nephew was killed piloting a B24 in 1943 over Germany… he got at least one crewman out as I understand.
