You can post entry in the current year but while preparing financials the entry has to be removed from current year financial and will be adjusted in comparative previous year number. If the omission entry has impact on P/L then the impact has to be shown in opening retained earnings carried forward. For income tax, if the amount is significant then ITR to be revised if time limit has not crossed. If revising time deadline crossed, then you have to intimate to the tax department.
