Good stuff...Mine cuts out far too soon after running a low wattage kettle or 600 watt mini heater for 15 minutes despite having doubled up on the battery cables. I've got 230 AmpHrs of Agm battery storage. Any thoughts? Cheers, J Scotland
@TravelSick7 сағат бұрын
Hmm interesting one, sounds like it could be a fault with the inverter unless its overheating. Do you have plenty of air getting to the inverter?
@jimmywilson63884 сағат бұрын
@TravelSick Hi, Plenty of ventilation. Doesn't heat up and no fan on. Just seems to run out of juice despite fully charged batteries. Checked and tightened all connections and no corrosion showing. It has been below zero here for a week or so. Do you think that would impact on the invertor?
@TravelSick3 сағат бұрын
@@jimmywilson6388 be worth checking voltage on battery, we had 100% charge but voltage was low due to the cold. that could be an issue. might just need putting on charge overnight
@jimmywilson63882 сағат бұрын
@TravelSick It's warming up here now so will check again this week. It's only a back up system so not crucial forcevery day use. J

Glad I found your video! I ordered one of these this morning, then read that you can't connect your van sockets to both shore power and the output of the inverter, for fear of blowing up the inverter (so people were having to manually switch between sources.) Thankfully this video explained about the UPS switching (not sure if that's only on later/some models, but it IS shown on the one I've ordered) so I just need to connect shore power and 12v in, then connect the van sockets to the 240v out and they will take power from the right place.
@TravelSickАй бұрын
you do still need a switch. you cant have van plugged into shure power and inverter plugged into 240 vaults without being able to isloate the vans 240v switches so only that the inverter is supplying them power else you will end up with 480v going through the sockets. in our old van we had shure power - RCD - Single Socket then plug intop inverter then another plug out of inverter into a 2nd RCD that the sockets were connected to. that way when we were on 12v it would use inverter to RCD 2 and when on shure power it the switch would activate passthrough on the inverter and power the sockets. not sure how its achieved in a motorhome which is why i installed 2 sockets purely or inverter only.

I think there is s requirement for an air gap for each side of the battery. for heat dissipation. not sure your pillows help up against it;) probably ok in the winter but... food for thought.

I believe they are as good, if you need a charger though the other is the way to go for sure, we have tried ours out at the weekend and it works great with the Renogy lithium battery. We used 10% and byut the time we had driven home we were back at 100% again. its great!
