I’m just starting out mobile detailing as a side hustle and was wondering how Nonsense compared to Mat Renew. Not enough of a difference for me to purchase a different product! Good to know!
@MichaelOnRockyTop Жыл бұрын
Hey Bobby, to get rid of some of the confusion, nonsense is an all-purpose cleaner intended to restore the surface to base condition. After it has been stripped and cleaned, you apply the conditioner, which is natural shine. This process only needs to be done once or twice a year. The other two are intended to be used during maintenance cleans in between.
@MichaelOnRockyTop Жыл бұрын
Dude, thank you so much for this video! I've spent the last couple of days watching their tutorials on interior detailing. Came across these two products for conditioning and protectorants. Was not sure which one to go with.

Why is everything optional? Simple.........GREED! Your griping about the noise, if you would have taken the stock 18inch rubber, the ride would be smoother AND quieter. I have a '20 2lt (18in wheels), the noise that I hear mostly is wind noise at highway speeds. As for the crappy sounding audio, you fail to realize that a BASIC AUDIO system in ANY vehicle (under $50K) is NOT going to be Bose or JBL or Sony level audio quality. As far as the doors rattling, maybe yours was built on a Friday or Monday. My doors feel quite substantial, for an "American" vehicle. My biggest disappointment... lack of a "trifecta tune" from the factory. About 350HP would give this vehicle some snap! Meanwhile, I WILL enjoy the styling. IMHO, The "Coke bottle" shape kind of reminds me of the C3 'vette, lot better than some Japanese or Korean creations!

*The necessary app for this bottle is a privacy violating nightmare. I just looked at my AdGuard stats and just over the past 30 DAYS ALONE it tried to serve up 135 ads, made 8.5K tracker requests, and 16.6 requests to DoubleClick. And if you fully block the app, guess what? It stops working and your $70 bottle becomes just another generic thermos. Stay away from a product that abuses its customers so aggressively.*

Well I just bought the interior cleaner w/black cherry scent but it stained my floor mats. It left them looking like crap w/a white haze all over them. Not happy with this product. I even posted my comment on their social media page & it was deleted, & I didn't even cuss once which was surprising in itself lol.
@BobbyDeez2 жыл бұрын
I’m sorry that happened on your mats. I’ve never tried it on rubber mats, just plastic interior surfaces. And I have heard of that happening before, which is unfortunate since they should at a minimum be DMing you when a comment like that is left (my opinion at least)
@dominicfrost86272 жыл бұрын
@@BobbyDeez that would be to easy but at the same time if they would DM anyone w/this issue, that would mean that they would actually be acknowledging that their product is not as flawless as they make it seem & they knew of the possible outcome of using their product. I have even posting that same comment on several of their yt pages, & just like on their other social media pages they just ignore it. To me, any manufacturer that ignores issues w/their product just screams scammers to me & I'm sure just about everyone else left in this position may feel the same. I hate to say/write/comment it but it is what it is. Live & learn..

You aren't using the chemical guys with the right brush. You need to use a detail brush so it lathers. The bristles are not as agressive on the horse hair brush. Rubbing a smaller detail brush in a circular motion on the steering wheel creates a lather and agitates the dirt. The horse hair brush will as well on larger surfaces like seats and stuff. It's just to big to produce a good cleaning on the steering wheel. Both products I believe work equally well. I do the same thing with either one I use. Sometimes it takes a little technique as well.

Hey! Have tou ever used the citrus and gloss? if yes, is it better than the honey dew? And do you know the difference between Nonsense and all clean+? thanks!
@BobbyDeez2 жыл бұрын
I have not used that wash from them so I can’t say whether or not it works better than honeydew. As far as the difference between the 2 cleaners, the main difference is in the formula. Everything is the same within it with the exception of adding in sodium hydroxide and dialing back the amount of sodium metasilicate in the All Clean+. To get a little nerdy with it, sodium hydroxide is a corrosive substance, but the amount used should be extremely harmless but my guess is enough to help break down contaminates more easily. The metasilicate is essentially a booster in cleaning performance. I hope that answers your question!

The Nonsense side was clearly dirtier than the Mat Renew side. But mostly I wonder how the right side would look if you simply hit it with a little CG Silk Shine or another protectant? I think it would look just as good since the Mat Renew just incorporates a protectant in it. If similar results, I would rather use Nonsense & Silk Shine as they provide more uses on other areas....more versatile.
@BobbyDeez2 жыл бұрын
The only issue I have with putting a “protective” coating on rubber mats is that, at least for me, the mats don’t absorb it and the residue ends up getting on the bottom of my shoes and then transfers to the pedals. This causes a decent amount of slipperiness and is further enhanced if my shoes are wet from rain, etc
@tomm80252 жыл бұрын
@@BobbyDeez - Good point....wasn't thinking about residue from cleaners & protectors. I guess you're saying a product like Silk Shine is purely a residue to prolong the item looking nice as opposed to the cleaner mostly removing stuff....and Mat Renew leaves a non-residue protectant? I have been buying Chemical Guys products more but I wish they better described or explained precisely why one product is better than others and when. I was buying a foam cannon soap and they have several, at different price points and when I read the descriptions I had no idea what made one better than another, with the biggest difference being scent and color. So I just went with Honeydew cause it was normally priced higher than Pink but on sale at the moment I was buying. But I still wonder "what' the difference between these soaps?"

They claim it does not add a greasy shine to it, is that correct? I want something that will clean and protect my "flat" interior but not be greasy or oily or leave some weird residue.
@BobbyDeez2 жыл бұрын
It does a decent job off not adding a shine to it. In terms of paint glossiness, I would consider it satin as opposed to flat. It does help to use a clean microfiber cloth after the initial wipe down to help with even that little bit of shine. I hope that analogy and tip helps!
