Whoever was doing the camera work had no idea how to pick what should be on screen. You almost never see a full set of tuned gongs, and they really should have been prominently featured, especially at 4:47 where they are most dramatically employed.

3:47 and 4:30 how is this theme called? I want to find it separately.

La música militar española está unida en mi memoria, además de a la mili, al recuerdo de mi padre, que hizo su servicio militar en Melilla, como tambor en la banda del Regimiento de Infantería Melilla 52, en el año 1963. Recuerdo ver, cuando era niño, en televisión los desfiles del Día de las Fuerzas Armadas y como me iba nombrando el título de las marchas que sonaban durante el desfile. 🙂

Hay tres Fandangos, debidos a tres músicos catalanes, que son geniales. Uno es éste. Un obstinato muy bien interpretado por Curbelo. Otro es el no menos genial de Amadeo Vives, de la zarzuela Doña Francisquita. Y otro de Enrique Granados, de la obra Goyescas. Para mi gusto el mejor es el de Vives. Lástima que sea más bien corto y no se entregue a variaciones como hace Soler.

Thank you for posting these Puccini arrangements, and these short arias as well. I keep replaying them and am touched by the music. I stumbled upon this channel looking for Puccini piano tutorials and what a gem it is! This orchestra is lovely. The trombone player's Nessun Dorma was a rewind X 10 for sure.... what a unique arrangement there. The whole Orchestra is just solid and I'm puzzled by the low sub and view count.....like I found a secret place. The recording quality is studio-like. In my amateur opinion, Ms Estefania Perdomo's voice is top quality. I don't know anything, but in my thousand's of hours listening to Puccini online, at home, and at the Opera, these songs, her voice, and this Orchestra just hit differently for me and I'm so glad to have found them.

Beautiful performance of this incredibly difficult work. Only a musical moron would give this a thumbs-down. I've only listened to the first few moments and I know it's going to be a great performance. The piccolo parts are treacherous. That tambourine player means business!!! OOps, I spoke too soon. The trumpet soloist missed the high note in the solo. A beautiful and absolutlely haunting piece of music that I've known about since 1979 when I was in high school. Cheers from Texas. The piccolos didn't play the high repeated Bb's as noted in the music, but they took it down and octave in the last movement.
