Did not like this album for many years. I love nowadays. The cover is the best of the four. ❤

I know we kinda ripped on it.. but to be honest i like it way more as an album that came out in the 70's as apposed to a KISS album as it was billed. I think Peter and Gene went left where Ace and Paul make KISS albums that they happen to be singing all of the songs. I do like Peter's quite a bit... but in this context it slips a bit

yes and yes. Peter's the better of the two. Had it been just his solo album and not a KISS solo album things might have been different.... maybe

I love it now that i'm older, more mature ears! It should also be applauded because it's a true solo record in the sense that it sounds nothing like Kiss and more his roots! You matter to me was also done the same year by Joey Travolta! Check it out on youtube.

It took some time for it to grow on me. I do really enjoy it.... to me it's not a KISS album its more of a AM radio light rock album

I love Peter's Solo record. More so as an adult. The solos were a funny thing, besides Gene, I hadn't hears any of the solo records (Ace, Paul, Peter) before buying them on CD. Peters was probably played the least as a teen. But somewhere in my adulthood, I totally fell for the disco / Good Times feel it has. Today it is my 2nd favorite of the four. (Most played being Gene and Peter). Unpopular opinions I know, but that's the fun of it. We all find different stuff that makes us tick. I would probably rank Peter my favorite cover as well. Something about those bandolier's, I can't stop staring at them. Great episode! Wishing you all a good week.

I can really see that. If I'm being honest i do really like it. I think having the KISS logo and make up makes you think it's going to be something that it's not. Once you take that away it is a really good 70's album... just not a KISS album. Thanks Ric!

I was 8 in '78 and at my local Record World. They were playing all the solo albums except for Peter's. Of course Ace's was the big hit, Paul's was okay and Gene's was weird but interesting. I bought Ace's and took a chance on Peter's too and I loved it. Why wouldn't I? It was 1978, I was watching the Love Boat and st** like that. It just should have been marketed differently than the others, played on AM soft rock radio.

Thats a great point. Peter's album could have had a whole different marketing outlook and really tapped into a market that KISS was not hit. the light soft rock stations. That's a great point, and a miss opportunity. Thanks for watching!

I listen to most of this episode on Spotify as it came up as a suggestion or maybe I found it somehow. I'm not sure but I loved listening to your recap. I'm still finishing up now. I was at that show and I remember waiting out there in that cold weather. Joe, that was crazy! Although I didn't have the pre-show sound check package. I thought the same as you about "Consume" until I heard it in a fan video recorded at a gig in Austria and confirmed once again why we say that TW are exponentially better live. Excellent, interesting and entertaining review of "KMF". As you get to know The Warning more you discover that they have several styles of rock but they are invariably pure rock!! And I continue to reaffirm my humble but very own opinion that with its structure, its cuts, transitions, rhythm changes, modulations, choruses, pre-choruses, drum attacks, its endings… All of this is masterful. The great beauty of their art is in its simplicity but all of this always seems to be at the right time and in the right way, bordering on perfection and predominating sophistication. There could always be other options, but the ones they chose seem to be the exact ones to create a masterpiece of art. Also impregnating everything with a natural touch of inevitable sensuality that only adds improvement and with the feeling, sensitivity and passion of their blood, race and culture. Each of its pieces can be very different, but always with all the TW flavor. It’s very clear that these sisters have no limits. They have that gift that only belongs to the geniuses that appear among us every certain period of time. This is the youngest veteran band in the rock world. Without forgetting that there are only three of them, yes, but three true geniuses in their field. Melodically they are the best, without a doubt. They are the queens of the hook, the riff, the key changes, the contagious rhythms, the catchy melodies, the sublime voices, the unbeatable harmonies and the ambiguous but deep and powerful messages. And this happens song after song… INCREDIBLE!! I think that DPA, with the album "KMF", have risen to the next level, where the greats are, but they have arrived with the sword drawn and the knife between their teeth, very willing to take it by storm and take no prisoners... The new masters of rock: The warning!! ⚡ For now I'm subscribing to your channel because I hope to see many reactions from you to my favorite band of all time. Thanks and greetings from México!! 🇲🇽 🤘😁✌️ .

If I were you guys, and this is for everyone. I would fly over to Mexico City in Feb 2025 for their shows in Auditorio Nacional. Even when they are sold out shows, you can always buy tickets outside with retailers. I had the chance to see the Teatro Metropolitan and Pepsi center concerts. They were over 120 min. probably longer. Shows in Europe and the US are in smaller venues and they play for around 60 to 70 min. So make sure to bring your behinds to this great city and see this great band at their home turf .

You want to check out another killer young band? Freeze The Fall. Vocalist/guitarist Quinn,17, discovered The Warning when she was 12, and taught herself guitar by learning Dany's parts from QOTMS. Joining her is drummer Jonah, 16 and Aria, 15, bass. They have 4 official videos, Glitch, Daughters of Witches, Masquerade and Broken Glass. Pick any 1 of those. If you want to see them live, Masquerade Live, from Revelry. Still in high school, they were signed to a promotion and distribution deal 17 days after uploading their first single.

According to the Warning's website's tour date listings, and also the Riot Fest 2024 lineup poster, The Warning will be playing there. The festival dates are September 20, 21 and 22. The Warning have shows in Cleveland on the 18th, New Jersey on the 21st, and Pittsburgh on the 23rd, so it seems more likely that they'd be performing in Chicago on the 20th, since it will give them a little more breathing room (assuming the festival would be so accommodating). Last year they played in Chicago, at Bottom Lounge, as part of their Error World Tour. There are several fan cam videos posted from that show here on youtube.

Keep Me Fed is their 4th album, 2nd with the record label, I can understand if you hesitate to give a chance to the first 2 because they were independent and children... well, they are still fantastic, the sound is different, there are more genre variations and Dany's voice is good but not current Dany level, and yet THEY ARE VERY VERY GOOD, just be open to them being different, QOTMS (2nd album) might be the better album overall if not, at the very least is neck and neck with these 2.

If you were to go watch some of their very early videos when they were just starting out, you would know that these Mexican sisters were not yet little bilingual Catholic school girls when they first got into music at summer camps. Mom's a dentist. Dad's an engineer. He used to run a recording studio. They grew up listening to their parents' rock favorites and watching concerts on TV. The kids all learned classical piano first, then discovered Rock Band, the video game. Suddenly, they were choosing instruments. Dany started guitar lessons at eight. Pau started drum lessons at six. Ale started bass at seven, a few years later, as she's the youngest. Their first two albums were crowd funded and independently produced! Before watching any more of their music, I'd suggest you watch their two TEDx Talks on the University of Nevada channel, from way back in 2016 and 2017. Perhaps also watch The Warning: The Mexican Rock Stars Who Happen To Be Sisters [TIDAL Rising Documentary] on the TIDAL channel. Maybe watch Mayday in the Making, parts 1-6. As much as you like it now, if you know who they are, and where they come from, their music will make a lot more sense. These ladies are now 19, 22, and 24, and just finished a sold out tour, 19 dates in Europe and the UK. They're just back from Japan, headed on to Europe, Canada, the USA, and other places this year. They already sold out a 10,000 seat arena in Mexico City for next February, and added another date there, due to demand. Their fourth album arrived June 28, and they performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live the night before. They’re on MTV Push during July. They are the real deal. They were a great cover band as LITTLE KIDS. But they don't need to do covers anymore. They are as good as, or better than the bands they covered! And in most cases, they are more fun to watch. Their superpowers are LIVE performance, music COMPOSITIONAL skills, LYRICAL depth, STAGE presence and charisma, and personal integrity.

If you haven't already done so, it's more than worth while delving into their earlier albums, XXI Century Blood, and the concept album Queen of the Murder Scene. The social media reel of Ale playing Z was exactly how I was introduced to The Warning too in late 2023. From there I watched the whole Teatro Metropolitan concert and was 100% sold…. Then the MTV performances dropped 🤯. I was in disbelief they could sound so good live. I immediately got tickets to the first live shows I could attend, flew to Europe and experienced a life altering performance. I was literally in tears it was so good. If you liked Error and are going nuts with KMF, you should listen to "Queen The Murder Scene" their second album. It's their rock novel with their most heavy songs like Dust to dust" (Sing by Paulina while drumming) QOTMS, Hunter and Dul Knives or punk ones like P.H.S.Y.C.O.T.I.C. or rock ballad like The End (also sing by Paulina). Something that i miss on the album KMF is a song sing by Paulina. You can see their presentation of their first album XXI Century Blood (2017) in the Dakota Bar. With songs sing by Pau in the keys like "Black Holes" and "Show me the Ligth". They did a video of the song XXI Century Blood (Award Winner) and that year they opened for Deff Leppard in Guadalajara and Ciudad de México. The presentation of the QOTMS album (2018) was in Lunario, it was independent recorded as XXICB did. That year they opened for Stryper and The Killers. They signed with LAVA in 2020 and then when tours cancelled the record the Error album with David Bendeth (the songs were ready before and they were going to recorded independently until signed). Then they recorded their vesion of Enter Sandman with Alessia Cara for the Black List of Metallica in 2021. The released the EP Mayday (the first half of Error) that year. They opened for Foo fighters in 2022 and Guns & Roses too when they released Error. Then went on tour that spring with Halestorm (after Lzzy see them performing Dull Knives in DeTour online concert) with Pretty Reckless in the US . In the fall they went on tor with Three Days Grace in Canada. 2023 they opened in 4 concerts in México for Muse in January (after Pretty Recless declined), then headline their own US tour with Holy Wars and Plush and went to Europe to opened another 5 concerts for Muse (invited by them becuase the openers would be Royal Blood - they still played -), then 2 more for Royal Blood in Netherlands. They did their own presentations with shows in England, Spain, Germany and festivals like Download, Rock am Ring, Rock am Park, Rock for People with presentation in the VMA's. This 2024 they alredy headline their tour in Europe, went to Japan to play with BandMaid and are in festivals in Spain, France, Austria and England besides The Wacken in Germany.

They have several concerts professionally recorded in image and audio in addition to the aforementioned Dakota Bar and Lunario that you find on their YT page - The TEDx presentations at the University of Nevada from 2016 and 2017 - Their performances at the Whiskey aGoGo in Los Angeles in 2018, 2019 (2) and 2020 (This year they performed for the 5th time for the release of the KMF album) - Not professional but good quality the Official Quarantine Concert of 2020 - The Metropolitan Theater Concert of 2022 (2.7 million views) - Virtually all of their performances are recorded by fans (some by official networks} and that is why the 10th anniversary concerts are available on YT although it has not been released, or the presentation of this year's Vive LAtino festival on Amazon, or the Tecate Pa´l Norte festival (where they recorded the official video for Automatic Sun)

Dany's cry in Escapism is one of the highlights of the entire KMF album for me. You can feel the pain in her voice, but at the same time the comfort of sliding out of reality momentarily into a safe space. It's generally lower on many reactors placement of the songs on the album, but for me it's right near the top. Nice review guys.......🤘😁

It’s so nice to see people appreciating KMF and The Warning in general. Their previous albums are wonderful and it’s amazing that they did it as kids, but they aren’t kids anymore. I imo I think they are making a statement that they are adults now. Sadly, some fans can’t let go of their childhood and are stubbornly resisting KMF. They had to mature musically because if they don’t, they will become stagnate and only fans will listen to them, the world needs to see amid hear them.

In an Interview, TW said the first time they plan on doing the entire album live is next February at Auditorio Nacional in Mexico City. However, they are introducing the new six songs from Keep Me Fed that they had not previously released as singles during their current European tour. They revealed that, because of their tour schedule, they can only practice during their sound checks and some of the tracks require a lot of practice before they debut them live. I interpret that to mean they may or may not debuted all the songs prior to February's sold out shows in CDMX (and Guadalajara and Monterrey). It depends on the time they have to rehearse. I think Sharks and Apologize are the most challenging for them to perform live because of the transitions in the songs, and Pau needing to figure out her singing while playing the drums. Regarding Sharks: listen closely to Ale's basslines. It reminds me of the ominous tones from the movie "Jaws" whenever the shark is coming.
