If you take joy in making fun of customers, perhaps you should be looking for a different line of work. Customers will always have quirks and ask weird questions, that sound stupid to you, because you understand your job where they do not. Customers should not be rude like the one with the phone. But when customers ask about price they obviously are not well off and perhaps just going to a coffee shop is a fun way to spend the little money they may have, and then baristas make fun of them for asking about a price? What a sad thought. I wish people were more kind in this world and could learn to give others the benefit of the doubt.

This was so on point! I worked as a Barista at The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf in North Hollywood about 12+ years ago & those customers are a carbon copy! 🤣

I hate customers who don’t listen. I remember on my second day of training, I went to wash my hands and some guy at the counter asked if he could order and I proceeded to politely explain to him that I was in training and that I hadn’t been trained on the register yet but I could get one of the other baristas to take his order. He then said, “You’ve got a serious attitude problem, just take my order okay?” Asshole, did I not just tell you that I have no fucking clue how to operate the register yet? Also, I’m the one with the attitude problem? Really?

I would just like to point out that if you get on your phone when you're being checked out, we hate it, your call can wait, it's not gonna take that long to check you out

I always pay by card so I'm not struggling with money put away my phone so I don't look rude and almost always order a caramel macchiato because I feel like I'm annoying if I look on the board and the barista is waiting lol and it's hard for people to understand me because I'm too scared to talk to people and masks don't make it any better

I've worked as a Barista for a year now. This is very accurate... People on the phone annoy me the most - or the regular customers that assume you know their drink order...

These experiences can be draining and even make me question my perception of reality when they occur. It can be hard to bounce back at times when you get more than one person like this during a short period of time.

4:41 omg this sorta happen to me this lady came in a said her door dash driver ate her food and she was so "upset" :(!!! but here's the thing we seal food shut and seal the bag shut so then that raises the question why did she assume it's Chipotles problem?Why didn't she contact door dash? Why wouldn't she try to confront her delivery driver? Seeming kinda sus right? regardless my manger still remade it anyways because they're all a bunch of backboneless bitches when it comes to costumers :/ ugh this scam rarely happens tho and I don't get it you're not gaining really anything considering most fast food and chain restaurants foods are dirt cheap and they're most likely shorting you on protions anyways lol

Oh lord yes this is daily life for me lol and now we have the whisperers that wear masks I can’t hear you and now I can’t even lip read !!! Speak up order fast and don’t question the freakn prices .. I love it when it’s super busy and you get the ones telling you their life story while people are waiting around them . God bless but then you get the ones that just make your day and remind you why you like your job lol

Listen, I would NEVER tolerate that woman on the phone. I would’ve straight up told her to either hang up her phone or go outside and come back out when the conversation was done. As “simple” as some people think serving coffee is, it’s actually pretty complex (especially if you’re new to coffee). Seriously, baristas, wait staff, and fast food employees literally get paid minimum wage to serve you. They survive in tips and sheer determination (and caffeine if you’re like me). Point is, don’t be rude!

Let me share what's the most annoying. I recently began working at Starbucks in Korea and Starbuck Korea has a thing called 'e-frequency' reward. I ask ppl if they wish to collect e-frequency reward and some say "no" at first, but then some want to earn the rewards after a point where I can get them to earn the reward. In this case, I have to damn refund the transaction and do it all over. takes so much time with ppl lining up behind u. thanks!
