Hello again from the West Coast of Canada. Thanks a lot for taking your time to make these videos! You have explained the answers to many questions I have regarding the borders! I grow several varieties of willow here on my property and enjoy working with it. What is the material you are using here? Great for demonstrating! I have watched many videos from Eastern Europe and see the border work but usually it is never explained as you have done! I will be watching all of your videos .. likely more than once.. and learning from you! Thanks Jake.. :)

Hello to you, and greetings from Israel. Glad to learn my work is appreciated. In the video I'm demonstrating using reed, aka center cane, aka rattan. Indeed a great material for demonstrating/ practicing. What varieties do you grow? Are you working with them mostly as brown willow (dried but not pilled)?

@@Basket_Case_1 Hello, I like the idea of Rattan in the round because of the consistency and length. I have never tried it. Igrow some purpureas ,rubens and a korianagi.. I also have a few different wild willows here and grow hazel. I have tried it brown and white...also I have made tools to split and skein the rods..I have sold some rods but not baskets... it is my hobby.

@@isminurarslan3060 This pilled willow, known as buff willow, I bought from a supplier. So it's already been dried. I soak it around 3-4 hours, depending on the length, and after soaking I leave wrapped-up inside a wet cloth for the night.

@@Basket_Case_1 I can’t tell you how much I learned from these videos when I started basket making. I think it is about 3 years ago that I startet with rattan baskets and your videos. A year later I changed to willow. About 6 months ago I wanted to come back and see the „braided border video“ and it was gone. Sure, there are many other videos in KZbin to teach this, and I managed to weave a braided border, but none of them is so detailed and so much information like yours. So I started searching for you in the internet, KZbin, instagram,… On Sunday one of the videos popped up in my KZbin feed! And I am so happy! I also learned a lot by looking at the pictures of your baskets on your website. They are gorgeous! Do you also have a new website? Best wishes, Sue

@Basket_Case_14 ай бұрын
Stay tuned.
