A very important thing to note is that, BL is not anything which involves gay content, or more specifically m|m content. It is one where the whole plot revolves around the romance between two men, the ups and downs of their relationship. Just having queer characters doesn't make something BL, and in the same way, while there might be "gay" scenes in a series, it is not going to be BL. At most, it'll be labelled as LGBTQ? Like, for example, Percy Jackson, The Cruel Prince, Press Play, Sami! etc. Another thing to note is, BL is basically romance, but between men. Romance has many sub-genres, like Dark Romance, Light Romance, Toxic Romance, Enemies to lovers and stuff, same goes for BL, the ones you mentioned were very toxic, verily popular, but Haunting Adeline is popular too. I don't like most of them, if you prefer more fleshed out characters, fluffy and sweet buildups in romance, no nsfw or hardly any nsfw, I could recommend a lot of them! While I'm not an expert on Japanese culture and laws, the legal age of consent is 13, now they're more recently considering raising it to 15 or something, but there's the legality of it. Also it's been more recently with the proliferation of Western mindsets which have increased homophobia, but Japan always had more of a don't ask don't tell thing going. Basically mess around quietly but don't make things public and embarrass anyone. Though the power dynamics are definitely very important to consider.

This was a fun video! I'm glad that you've found some BL you found enjoyable. BL isn't for everyone, but there are so many different types of BL stories that, while you may not like one story, you could love another. Also, hearing about BL through Killing Stalk (which technically isn't a BL, and instead a psychological thriller) and Jinx (which is a BL, however it a very toxic one which has a very niche audience) does not give a great idea of what BL as a broad genre can be. If you want any recommendations, Sasaki to Miyano is one of my favorites, as well as a story I find I'm comfortable recommending as I believe it can appeal to just about anyone. Thank you for the recommendation. I'm not sure the author understands what is going on. My mother is (or at least was) homophobic. That part of the abuse started when I was 9 and lasted until I broke all contact at the age of 26. I came at 21, and she doubled down on the homophobia for those last 5 years. So, I don't think it's ever good to try to make someone reconnect with abusive people.

Thanks for the recommendation! Gravitation was the first anime that introduced me to BL. Have you read Seven Days? If you haven't it's a nice short read. God I can't really remember the BLs I've read, but I kinda miss it. Though many of the ones I read started as dubcon, but Seven Days isn't like that. I've collected a couple of Danmeis, but I haven't really found one I liked. Also despite the meme Yuri on Ice as Yaoi on Ice, I literally thought it was going to be sports anime fujoshi bait, but it's not. And I as a fujoshi, do not considered this BL nor I believe the director also stated it's not BL series.

Then I found Danny Motta, whose videos led me to TGCF, and from there, it all spiraled until I came to Link Click and ORV.
