@@Amymaxey212 Yahweh is just the name for God; you are splitting hairs in Scripture. When Scripture references Yahweh and God, they are the same. Isaiah 43:10-13 “You are my witnesses”- this is the Lord’s declaration- “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. No god was formed before me, and there will be none after me. I-I am the Lord. Besides me, there is no Savior. I alone declared, saved, and proclaimed- and not some foreign god among you. So you are my witnesses”- this is the Lord’s declaration- “and I am God. Also, from today on I am he alone, and none can rescue from my power. I act, and who can reverse it?” The Lord means Yahweh, which is just Hebrew for "I AM". "'So you are my witnesses'---this is the Lord's declaration---'and I am God." Context is so important for Scripture reading and you're taking everything out of context. When Paul says that in 2 Corinthians 3, it has nothing to do with being "blinded" when we read the Old Testament. He's talking about how we can have boldness before God because of our sanctification in Christ. The "veil" he's referencing is that God's glory was too powerful for Moses to see; he had to put on a veil to cover his eyes. Paul says "We are not like Moses, who would put a veil over his face to prevent the Israelites from seeing the end of what was passing away. But their minds were made dull, for to this day the same veil remains when the old covenant is read. It has not been removed, because only in Christ is it taken away. Even to this day when Moses is read, a veil covers their hearts." He's talking about how Christ allows us to SEE the glory of GOD! In verse 16 he says "But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away." Did you see that? It says THE LORD. That's YAHWEH. You are being deceived by the god of this age that Paul talks about in 2 Corinthians 4: "The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. For what we preach is not ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus’ sake. For God, who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of God’s glory displayed in the face of Christ." Christ is the image of God. Jesus Christ is Lord--YAHWEH. The Father and Christ are one.

God also said to Moses, 'Say this to the people of Israel: The Lord (YHWH), the God (Elohim) of your fathers...has sent me to you.'" Here, Elohim and YHWH are explicitly identified as the same Being. The name YHWH is given as God's eternal memorial name. Matthew 22:31-32: "And as for the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was said to you by God: 'I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob'? He is not God of the dead, but of the living." Jesus quotes from Exodus 3:6, where YHWH is speaking. Jesus acknowledges this as the true God (Elohim/YHWH) and not Satan. Exodus 34:6-7: "The Lord (YHWH) passed before him and proclaimed, 'The Lord, the Lord, a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness, keeping steadfast love for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin...'" These attributes are the complete opposite of Satan, who is a deceiver, accuser, and destroyer (John 10:10, Revelation 12:9-10). Isaiah 14:12-15: "How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn! ... You said in your heart, 'I will ascend to heaven; above the stars of God I will set my throne on high... But you are brought down to Sheol, to the far reaches of the pit.'" Satan is a rebellious created being, while YHWH/Elohim is the eternal, sovereign Creator. In Ezekiel 28:13-17, Satan is described as a created being in Eden who fell due to pride. YHWH cannot fall, nor is He created. John 8:58: "Jesus said to them, 'Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.'" Jesus identifies Himself with YHWH’s name given in Exodus 3:14 (I AM WHO I AM). If YHWH were Satan, then Jesus would be aligning Himself with Satan, which is absurd and contradicts Scripture. Revelation 22:13: "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end." Jesus shares titles that belong only to YHWH (Isaiah 44:6). Deuteronomy 6:4: "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one." The Bible consistently emphasizes the unity of God. Elohim and YHWH cannot be two opposing beings without violating this foundational truth. Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill you, reflect, and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you into truth (John 16:13).

@ look into the divine council. It’s in the Bible. I’ll find it for you. This was the Elohim. Because Elohim is plural. I used to think of it as FATHER, SON and Holy Spirit, but after further research, I see it as the divine council. Deuteronomy 32:8 I believe. Numbers 15:39 "Don't be misled by your heart and eyes" Jeremiah 17:9 "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" Galatians 5:17 "The flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want" Now to address your mention of Deuteronomy 32:8. Read John 10:22-42 and pay close attention to verses 32 to 39. Compare that to Psalms 82 and tell me what you see. Do you have the eyes to see?

@ I used to say something very similar. I understand what you’re saying, but I do not believe Jesus is Yahweh. That is not my truth. But I respect yours, wholeheartedly. I used to speak against this same thing I’m speaking of now. If God can tell Abraham not to sacrifice his son, then if Yahweh’s spirit was upon japeth when he made the vow to offer up his daughter as a sacrifice, I’m sure he could have said no as well, in this situation.
