My father had a Beetle from 1967 made in Australia and later on ein VW Passat Station Wagen from 1975 also made in Australia. The Country Buggy was not just the same as the VW 181 or the Thing sold in other countries, but they look quite similar. Volkswagen started the producation in Australia because of a great demand and import fees. About 1970 the factory was not full at work. The cars from Japan, like Toyota, Honda and Mazda started there run to Australia. At the end Volkswagen germany had a big debit with this factory in Australia.

Hello! there. I saw your videos and was impressed by the quality of your content. However, after analysis, I noticed there needs to be improvement for getting more views and subscribers. You are working hard but the main motive to reach an exact audience is not fulfilled. You are working for your audience if the video can't reach them. That's a waste of your energy and time also. I will show the problem in your video and share how to fix it. Only say ‘yes’ if you want to grow your channel

Thank you for your video. I lived in Forrest as a young child about late 1959 to 1961/62? The town mill was operating then. I will give you excerpts from my "story." Forrest has forever remained within me... most joyous memories. Part of my "story"... "I leave our old wooden house and walk out into a silent, crisp, icy morning in the mid 20th century. Where are the birds? Too cold for them i wonder. Walking along the gravel road i breathe in the fresh scent of the eucalyptus trees and dream of what the future may hold for me. Arriving at the place where crossing the fence is easier i see dew laden silky cobwebs hanging, glistening, like crystal tears off the rusty barbwire fence." Finally at the school crossing with the sun higher and warmer now my friend picks small colorful "Xmas" spiders off the "egg and bacon" shrubs. We let them walk across our hands and gently place them back on the branches. We are ready for a busy, yet fun day at our tiny schoolhouse in the Otway Ranges. Most of us children were very aware of nature and of ourselves in the the late 1950's. I remember with fondness those days of such innocent fun so very long ago..." Cheers to you Aerial Explorer. Peace.

@@urbanaerialexplorer1885 The memories have never left me... such the the love and fun Forrest instilled in me when a child. Lived in an old wooden house out of town, (creepy old long drop dunny/no electricity/tilley lamps at night/open fire etc etc) Walked to school along a gravel road and crossed over a fence through the lush paddock. (shortcut.) The timber mill had a waste wood fire pit and the smoke combined with the fresh cut logs smelt similar to bread baking. Us youngsters had no tv or electronics but learnt much about life from "the oldies" and they instilled in me this... If you have a roof over your head, food in your stomach and a dry bed you are indeed a lucky person. In a nutshell this means i am happy to live in a mansion or a rough hewn wooden house and be satisfied. A mansion would be nice to own but winning a substantial lotto prize eludes me. LOL Goodbye, cheers and good fortune to you in 2025. Peace.

The now closed toilets & store rooms at Hawksburn, Toorak, Armadale & Malvern are on the island platforms underneath the station masters/booking offices and ramp down to the platform. The goods yard was at street level, where the new apartment buildings are. The Yard Foreman's office is the brick structure above platform 1. The rail entrance/exit to the goods yard branched off the up Caulfield Through Line on the Toorak side of the High Street bridge. There was a small signal bay/box on the island platform which controlled the signals & points into/from the goods yard.

Yes I’m curious as well. I’m from up that way (about 30 kms) and there’s nothing like that there now. That side has a small but very good pub. Where the photo is taken from is about where the level crossing up to the hospital is and on the immediate right on that vacant land is a former factory now converted in to shops, cafes and a market. So I’m intrigued what the building is as there’s no evidence of it now. It’s not the town hall as that’s on the left a far way away in the town centre. Wonder if it’s an old asylum?

@@urbanaerialexplorer1885 I did a bit of digging on Facebook this evening in the "Castlemaine history" group. Turns out it was the original Castlemaine Hospital on Gingell Street. The hospital relocated to newer buildings Halford Street in 1939 with the original buildings sadly being demolished some time after (I couldn't find an exact date). Reportedly there were complaints from nurses and patients in the Gingell Street location about the noise emanating from the railway yard, which could partly explain why it was moved.

Kingston is a lovely town. It’s another place we checked out a house for sale when we were looking in the area. The hotel is a nice place for a meal sitting on the veranda. 5:08, that looks like a sequoia. it gets a little bit hard to prune them when they are full grown. 16:17, note the wiring hanging out of the wall. that indicates that someone is or was intent on repairing this place. its rather old. i think that side room is an addition long ago because it has lining boards, not sheet plaster or other more modern material on the walls. 14:25 i'd put my money on that being a post office. i thought i knew the area within 160kms of melbourne very well yet this is yet another town you have done a video on that i didnt know of.
