I thought of a new story arc. What if.....the Silo was on another planet? They think that they have been on Earth for hundreds of years, but once they start to delve into "why are we here?", They realize they are not on Earth.

I am trying to FORCE myself to finish episode 1. Im not sure i can. Its dark. Theres NOTHING going on,just muffled speech,banging noises in the dark and useless flashback memories. If this was how it was in the book them im wasting my time on those series. If i am able somehow to finish episode 1 and episode 2 is the same ill just stop watching the show. U gotta have severe brain damage or mental breakdown to say season 2 ep 1 was good and i actually saw some such coments. Its crazy how stupid people have gotten. " I liked it,it was slow blah blah' THE ENTIRE EPISODE HAS NOTHING GOING ON IN IT FOR FUCKS SAKE !

I enjoyed it a lot, they are taking time to tell the story. I think my only nitpick was the cliffhanger episode felt out of time with both stories a bit, and then the sudden appearance of a fire room at the end was just weird. I think, we need a view of that to explain that it was there in the first place.

To everyone saying “It followed source material” as a way to justify the pacing issues: is the goal of the TV show to entertain an audience (including those who haven’t read the source material) or is it to adhere as perfectly to the source material as possible?? Obviously they didn’t achieve “entertaining an audience” as well as they did in season one, and they’re going to see a drop off in ratings and viewership next season. Only time will prove me right, but we all know I’m right about that.

I agree that, compared to season one, the pacing was VERY slow. There was very little in the way of intrigue and mystery. “The Safeguard Procedure” was the only mystery added. The ending was weird. The suspense was NOT replicated from season one. I give season one a 9/10 and two a 5.5/10.

The second book had the same problem. It lacks the mystery of the first one, and it just verges on depressing. The series follows the book, and frankly they managed to make season 2 of the show more entertaining than the second book.

Silo delivered on the suspense but consistently came up short in worldbuilding and interpersonal dynamics. The whole show just feels like theater kids playing make believe commune in their moms basement. They could have done a lot better job at conveying the significance of certain aspects of silos culture and a lot of the character interactions, communications and motivations were straight immersion breakers. I didn't even get through the end of S02 and I'm out for any future seasons.

I agree. The pacing was awful. Compared to season one there were too few significant revelations. It’s not stated how long Juliet stayed at the second silo, but given what she did on screen, it felt like she was there for an afternoon.

I liked that season very much. Yes, it was slow but I don't mind. And people who are complaining about the screentime of Rebecca Nichols: There is simple no main characater in an ambivalent story like this. I liked the other characters, too. And i sincerely hope that Bernhard Holland survived. That character isn't really evil, never was. I want that redemption arc.

The whole uprising from Mechanical and IT killing mayor was so badly written. Exposition galore, awful dialogue, forced fast pacing, continuity errors, illogical and out of characters decisions. Also the whole reading graffiti that has been there for decades and only now reading one part of it is so fucking stupid. Writers really thought they had the dumbest audience ever.

The show is essentially an adaptation of the book Silo, and since it closely follows the source material, the pacing feels a bit slow at times due to the book’s detailed nature. Personally, I found the middle part of the season to be quite slow as well. However, next season will likely be very different-if you’ve read the book, you’ll know what I mean. That said, some of the upcoming developments might turn off a lot of viewers.

The books are called Wool, Shift, and Dust. Season 2 ended towards the end of the first book, Wool, but left the ending out. People whine about shows like this because they wait a week and expect something awesome to happen instead of the story moving forward and the world being setup. Ive found that binge watching the episodes once the season is done is much more enjoyable vs waiting a week between episodes. Pretty easy to stay away from the spoilers (if you havent read the books).q

their plan "lets drag out 9 episodes and most of episode 10, and then in the last 20 minutes BOOOM! everything moves fast, we are tired" I hated the whole thing of "lets drag the rebels into this 'safe' so that they can witness our hero's return" would have been awesome they were super depressed, no hope type of thing, edge of giving up, then someone tells them that there is someone approaching on the screen AND MILK THE SHEET OUT EVERYONES REACTIONS, buut Juliette just appeared, she took a long ass time to reach Silo 17. The showrunners new what they were doing with that scene(no they didn't). I haven't watched a lot of series, kinda hard to invest in a show then magically gets cancelled, the problems I had with Silo is the same problem that had with other TV shows, aka House of The Dragon and From(which is dope, I think you'll love it, haven't snooped around your channel yet, so I don't know if you have reviewed it) is that they are meant to be 'binged' and INCOMPLETE final episodes, no way Silo episode 10 was meant to be the finale, everything happened too fast compared to snail's pace we got for 9 episodes. The Mechanics were boring show got greenlit for Season 3/4

The writing for Season Two was much weaker than that of the first season. Some say that Season Two was "boring" or "slow"; I don't agree, but it lacked the wonderful cohesiveness and forward thrust that defined Season One. Perhaps the writers' strike had an impact?
@sethd6485
@sethd6485 3 күн бұрын
no, they wrote Season 2 before that and filmed it in close conjunction with Season 1. Season 3 is already filming and Season 4 is 100% written. the only episode Apple hasn’t read is the series finale (4x10). i thought Juliet’s storyline was frustrating at times because it could (at times) feel aimless. helping Solo with this or that when the overall payoff isn’t clear. i also have a few issues with the “back at the ranch” storyline, in our main silo; namely, i don’t care for many of those characters the way i do for Juliet (hey Knox and Shirley!). but that said, i think once the series is complete, S2 will not seem as “weak” to the viewers who believe it was. i actually reject the idea that Season 1 was much stronger - it was a slow burn at times. but it all built up to a perfect finale with real payoff, one that answered some questions (what’s the world outside like? do people really die on the hill? are they all alone?) and raised others (what’s going on in the other silos? who built the silos and why?). i felt that Season 2 was similar in that way. yes, it was a slow burn at first, but it built up to a final few episodes that offered a lot of great payoff. the finale in particular did exactly what a great finale should do - like S1’s finale, it answered some questions and raised more questions. IMO, the payoff of the finale was so great that it completely justifies any “slow burn” that preceded it. yes, there were frustrating moments with Juliet’s storyline but overall (in my opinion) it actually wasn’t that slow, and it wasn’t always aimless, because there was payoff in the finale. if there hadn’t been, yeah, i would’ve been frustrated. but there was, and it was exactly what was needed. they gave away some but not too much. S3 will partly focus on the origin story which sounds fantastic (the two actors from the final S2 scene are series regulars in S3). so i get where people are coming from, and no show is perfect, but the finale made it all worthwhile for me. sometimes you just have to stick with it and i am so glad i did. narratively-speaking, this model works for the show IMO. it starts off a bit slow (i hope they can keep it from ever feeling aimless in future though) and then accelerates to a masterful rounding off of things, then leaves us with a satisfyingly open ending.

@@sethd6485 Agreed, mostly, but for me there's no question that the writing was inferior to S1. It wasn't awful, but it simply wasn't of the same caliber. Hopefully it's not a portent of the remaining seasons.
