Thank you. A friend of mine was playing this the other day on melodeon and wanted to make sure i had the chords right for guitar. all the other videos I've found are on the bagpipes, which makes hearing the chords a little difficult with the droning.

Oh, this may feel like a nitpick, but when filing reeds (particularly smaller/higher reeds), don't forget to dust off or just blow off the filings you just created. Some kind of weird static electricity thing happens that can make the filings stick to your reed and throw off the tuning.

I find that having to lift the valves to tune the reeds almost always leaves the valves curled up. (With leather.) Is there a trick to restoring them to flat that doesn't require a lot of work? I've seen some people use some kind of slotted combo of paper clip ends to curl them back in the right direction.

very interesting video! Does adding the stop pull knob (and drilling through the casework) contribute to air leakage? I'm confused as to how you might prevent air leakage after drilling through the casework in the part that's supposed to be mostly sealed other than the reeds. cheers

Hi, Mr. Bailey! You play wonderful and I.ve been listening to you for years and watching how you fix accordions and how patient you are. This accordeon is diatonic? Is it a C/F? Could you send me the schematic of the 12 bass? Thanks a lot!

@@possumbuddy I'm afraid it's in D/G I can transpose it to give the C/F equivalent but works earn that the layout of the upper 4 buttons is variable dependant on the maker

Bloody hell - I think this must be the first time I'm writing an appreciation comment for you, Lester - but please know you've been *greatly* appreciated by myself and many of my close friends. Thank you so much for this tune and indeed, I have to agree with the previous comment - it's refreshing to hear a tune played properly. Thank you so much for this and all your other videos. There are many like myself who watch and are indebted to you. We are grateful - thank you.

Lester, have you heard the Christmas carol “Chariots”? I think the writer lifted from (or was inspired by) this tune.

Good afternoon Lester, what is the height of the felt and leather you use? I found there are many sizes from 1,5 mm up to 6 mm for accordions.
