Gorgeous singing. Power duo! Tim, tone down the delivery - you’re getting pretty flashy there, singing AND playing. What’s next, a sequined cape? 😂

wish you showed the Kirvo in place, my favorite which Kirvo, edit, lol, it is there end of fret board, I suspect the Kirvo would have less feedback issues, I just got a Kirvo, I have a Lace, very muddy and dull, Kirvo better for sure, wo out drilling a hole not sure how to attach Kirvo for playing out

Muck about with a Myers Grip? What are you talking about? I have both the Grip and the Feather. I regularly move the Myers grip among four different guitars. I semi hard mounted the Myers Feather to my Mule Tricone. The ease of transport among my guitars and the volume control right there under my fingers on the guitar are very convenient features. Few microphone or pickup systems, that can be moved among a collection of instruments, have an on board volume control. Not incidentally, the Myers pickups (microphones really) have the mic. at the end of a flexible boom that allows you to try different locations for different tones. Well, that is my rant for today.
@dummyguava3 жыл бұрын
I mentioned I don't usually have "proper" sound guys - what I was referring to is the open mics/gigs I frequent do tend to be "show up, plug in", with PA's (if any) and sound people (if at all) of varying quality and no consistency. What I was referring to was being able to show up and plugin, not "muck around" with PA's/DI's/EQ/sound checks etc. No criticism of Myers at all. In fact I did mention they sound pretty good. Tools for the situation.
@lapsteelguy3 жыл бұрын
@@dummyguava I apologize and accept that I misunderstood. I stopped doing shows quite a while ago. After 70, my hands just don't work that way anymore and everything has gotten heavy. I don't need a sound guy as much as I need a roadie. I wish I could have had the Myers Grip 10-30 years ago. It would have saved me from a lot of stress and wasted cash. Miking a resonator guitar was always a challenge. Mostly I send the Myers signal through a Roland AC 60. I have always played in small rooms and never need more power. Now I have different starter settings for each of my guitars, marked on the Roland.

Not sure if you play live but do you get any feedback issues from a resonator compared to a normal amped acoustic?
@dummyguava3 жыл бұрын
I have played live a little but always small places - never been loud enough to give me issues one way or another. Probably would be at larger vennues. I don't have a volume knob on the krivo pickup so use a volume pedal.

Hey mate can you use both the Myers feather AND the Krivo together?
@dummyguava4 жыл бұрын
I dont see why not - but they are different impedances so will have to be managed as such.
@suncat51604 жыл бұрын
tdquarry does that basically mean I’ll potentially run into feedback problems because they operate on different wavelengths or something? Sorry, I’m a novice.
@dummyguava4 жыл бұрын
@@suncat5160 No - the krivo is a pickup (hi-impedance) and can go straight into an amp. The meyers is a microphone (low-impedance) and so needs to go into a PA, or an amp with a mic input, thats all. No reason you can't do both at the same time.

Nice video! Do you still have this guitar? How loud it is compared to a dreadnaught? Do you think it would be loud enough for a flatpicker?
@dummyguava5 жыл бұрын
Hi Eric - no I never owned this guitar, I just had it for a week on loan. I wouldn't say it is as loud as a dred but certainly louder than a parlour - maybe like an OM? I was going to suggest you check out the carbon fibre section of the acoustic guitar forum but I see you already have!
@billholder13302 жыл бұрын
Yeah to be louder than a dreadnaught you'd have to go to the X-30 Jumbo - arguably the loudest guitar on the planet (imho).
