STP uses a spring and the super tech uses a stamp spring. And filter medium is slightly different in STP. Unfortunately you cannot get the MP super tech models anymore. They only carry the ST. Which the only difference is the MP uses a silicon drain back and ST uses a rubber.

I just recently bought some of that valvoline restore and protect for my genesis 2.0t, it says it can remove up to 100 percent of carbon with continuous use, im hoping its good at cleaning because the previous owner neglected my car a lot lol

Be aware if there is a bunch of sludge the filter and oil will need to be changed in hundreds of miles not thousands of miles.

The additives in that will destroy your cat over time. I sure hope you're keeping an eye on your oil pressure. That oil is WAY to thick for that motor. Your oil filter will be bypassing a lot. I sure hope any one else who owns a Gen Coupe 2.0T do not use this weight. That's insane...smh

They are working great no issue with them I changed them out due to the amount of miles on them with the iridium ngk plugs.

Amazing video, did you use synthetic or non synthetic oil for the the genny. I have a bk2 and the previous owner ran 5w30 euro, but unsure if I should go with non synthetic or synthetic oil, if you can help that would be amazing.

I use conventional oil for me it is about cost of oil and my oil change intervals. The cost is less than $20 for the oil and I use it for 3k miles then change it. My thought process is to change the oil sooner rather than later no matter the type of oil. Changing your oil is less expensive than changing out your engine or rebuilding it.

Unfortunately I can't give you a fair answer as to how loud they are because my car is very loud with my exhaust and my subwoofers. I think it would be an apples to oranges comparison because your car is a volt which I assume is very quiet.

Does this Full filter have the same weight as the OEM? I had a similar filter made by Daewoo but it felt lighter than the OEM and when I cut it open, the pleats weren't as robust

was worried about doing 5w40 for this winter gets to -10 to -20 where i am so i run motul 5w30 will switch to 5w40 next summer

You lower the 1st number in the winter based on the temperature chart not the 2nd number. The 2nd number is when the oil itself is at normal engine operating temperature. The 1st number is when the oil has not been warmed up and has not been in use so it is at ambient temperature.

Make sure you use a 40 normal operating temp viscosity the 2nd number and select the correct cold dry start viscosity the 1st number pause the video with a clear shot of the oil chart put your finger on the coldest winter temperature it gets where you love move your fing down and any of the viscositys that your finger touches regardless of it being on the 3.8 section you can use that 1st number and any 1st numbers that are closer to 0w which is for places that are colder than -30°c / -20°f. For instance it is no colder than 30°f in Arizona where I live so I can use a 15w 10w 5w and a 0w as my 1st number and always in a 40 viscosity.

It has air going in to it so therefore it is pressurized. It is air tight so there is no leaking anything out air or liquid.

If you do your research stp and super tech actually use different media that’s why the supertech last 20,000 because supertech is 99% at 30 micron and stp is 99% at 20 microns that’s why stp is only 10,000 miles just do your research bro

Both those filters are made by CHAMP LABS! They are basically the same filter. I never trust a mileage rating, i change the oil every 6 months.

Everything about it is great. I did a bunch of research on the forums on the gencoupestore.com back then (beyond redline) big stock turbocharger. I was looking for a turn key turbo upgrade that would be easy to install and ready to drive after installed. I didn't want to have to tow it to get tuned at a shop or wait to get a street tune or data log tune. Tim Herber the owner of gencoupestore.com has that so I bought it which consists of the turbo the ecu with tune and the fuel injector clinic 525cc injectors. Now I already had the standard bolt ons intake quality front mount intercooler an aftermarket blow off valve 3" free flowing exhaust ngk 2309 spark plugs an upgraded clutch. Low 300 whp and tq is very fun in the genesis coupe a perfect amount. The turbo keeps going where the stock one falls off. I installed the kit in about 6 hours very easy the install is pretty straight forward which was what I was looking for. You don't need to take the manifold off you don't even need to take the exhaust housing off the manifold you leave it attached which also means you leave the primary cat / o2 housing and the rest of the exhaust on. The turbo has a v band clamp which is nice that puts the two housings on the center section. The oil inlet and outlet hoses the inlet outlet water lines. Not much to swap out the turbo.

I've done quite a bit to it and shes been a blast but I'm looking for something to get some real kick out of her and I saw you had the stuffed turbo so I just had to ask. how are you liking the single exit exhaust too? i have a full straight pipe to quad tips but I wanna do a single exit and get rid of my resonator. it doesn't sound the best rn and I can tell the turbo doesn't spool as quickly. i actually had my muffler completely off for a while cuz I got rear ended and it broke it lol and it honestly sounded nicer and felt better than it does now. anyways thanks for the in depth response I appreciate it man!

@@jeffreycattelino3996 yea turbo xs is pretty solid, i have their RFL BOV. its a bit much but its pretty cool lol. i was thinking about getting a tomei exhaust cuz they have a 3 inch straight pipe. i basically have a full 3 inch straight pipe from the turbo until the resonator and muffler, i think the tomei replaces both of them. idk but i want my shit to be loud lmao.

@@colinharris9494 I purchased a turn key modified big stock turbocharger upgrade kit that comes with the turbo the fuel injectors a new oem ecu with the tune for the modified big stock turbocharger and the 525cc fuel injector clinic fuel injectors. All I did was install the turbo the injectors and the ecu and the car was ready to rock. No taking it to a tuner no getting a tuner to the car it was a plug and play kit.
