I chose 4 on stage 6, so I'm very proud of being 1 away from the actual pitch.

Would it be considered cheating if I replayed the entire part at 2:40 even if I got it right at the end, lol?

This might be an uneducated opinion, but I dont think the scales were much of a memory test. At least for me, scales are kind of like syllables. If you know the word you can sound out the syllables. And for me if I know the first two notes I can complete the scale. I did some guitar when I was young that was about it. I failed on the last scale. I did 1-2-5 while it was 1-3-6.

To some extent, this is trained. I remember my piano teacher would put us through pitch training as part of our lessons and her promise was 100% relative pitch after 2 years of practice (which you had to record weekly on a recording device whe gave you) or she would refund you. She told me she didn't offer this deal to anyone over 30 because she had to refund a 35 year old over $4000 for the two years (who went from completely tone deaf to not tone deaf). However, 30% of her students ended up with perfect pitch (it was a bit higher, but that's what she put on the poster). Seemingly, the kids who ended up with perfect pitch had parents that did what they were asked to as well. Parents were asked to randomly quiz kids on random notes at spaced intervals of increasing times ( intervals starting at 5 mins ending at 9 months). My friends that did this still know all of it super well. They say it was akin to putting colors on flashcards, you expect kids to get it wrong the first 20-40 times you show them, but the feedback starts to kick in. Eventually, kids can start telling you when something is off-white, or a blueish-purple with ease(studies of certain groups of people that don't have names for many colors have trouble with these types of delineations). Exactly the same with my friends that took lessons from her (in regards to their pitch detection), and had parents that were dedicated enough to help them learn it. Personally, I don't care to have anything more than relative pitch. I don't even play instruments as an adult as the interest faded after middle school. Perhaps sadly, I heard that woman died a few years ago because a lot of my friends invited me to go and dance on her grave; I declined. She was a stern woman, and she yelled a lot when you would mess up, but I didn't feel like she "ruined my life" like they did. She asked me about my family, gave me cookies, and let me pet her dog. Her husband took me fishing once, and I had fun. She was a seasoned concert pianist with perfect pitch, she said she taught everyone perfect pitch the way her teacher taught her when she was 16. Apparently, it is grueling if you are over the age of ten, and under that age it is difficult to maintain attention (she never blamed me or my parents for my not reaching perfect pitch). She told me she believed everyone could learn anything if they just had the right teachers and the right motivation (which is why I started trying in math, which changed my life). Honestly, after writing this and reflecting a bit, I think I'm gonna go buy some flowers and put them on her grave. She taught me a lot of good lessons, and though she could be rude, insulting, and blunt at times, that's just what an autistic kid like me needed to get the message across. If there were an afterlife, I hope she'd be able to see that at least someone appreciated what she did for them.

I’m a pianist of 11 years who also plays percussion and ukulele and I can replicate songs by ear/memory and find any scale without sheet music by listening to it and hearing if it belongs. I can tell if things are sharp/flat, minor or major or if a note doesn’t belong and have close to perfect pitch as any note guesses are generally only one away from accurate but ya know, gotta make sure I’m not tone deaf😅

Both a friend of mine & myself got all of them correct lol This doesn't prove perfect pitch at all. My friend isn't even remotely musically trained or interested. This is more of a test on short term memory.

I find by closing my eyes and listening to the last part makes it easier for me to hone in on the notes. Theres a slight delay with the circle moving to the next number that comes after the sound of the corresponding note, threw me off in the beginning 😅
