coolest fucking band. I notice the lead singer will leave the space a little early sometimes, like he did here or In some jam sessions or on stage, when more often 'i feel that frontmen narcissistically think they are the main event and always need to hog the limelight or the creative space, even when doing nothing. When we peaces it gives the rest of the band their shine, the focus shifts to them and you can tell they like it cause they get stoked and turn up the energy to rock the rest the song so hard. the lead singer of this band commands quite a bit of attention undeniably, but he's humble about it. the music is the power plant of the whole circus, and AHC had something subtly more substantial to their arrrangements and sound than most of what you hear in this genre

like a lot of bands have songs that i imagine, being a musician, would suck to play over and over, like a comedian telling the same mid joke every night, and just knowing nobody even wants to hear it or play it again really , theyre just getting through it cause they have nothing better and it fits. but AHC's songs mostly have some touch of genius to them that makes them undeniable

Saw AHC in Exeter in 2006. Chad Hanks was getting harassed by one of the bouncers cos he was taking too long meeting the fans, so he told the bouncer he’d give him £5 for a few extra minutes with us. He shouted “Who’s got £5?”, so I gave it to him. After time was up he took me backstage and payed me back. Rest in Peace, Mate. It was a pleasure meeting you.
