they get to be old, which whizzer and martin (at least implied) never got to... what a gorgeous, awful extra level of poignancy

Thank you for sharing this in such an accessible format. Once I find the sheet music, it's gonna be my next audition song. Thank you, Michael.

this is a groundbreaking performance for a Broadway show.. You are seeing two men in a bed, singing a love song, one is married to a woman and father of a kid. The other is dying of AIDS. And this is ten years after La Cage was seen as a groundbreaking performance.

An absolute perfect moment in theater... this opened in nyc in 1990!!!!! We all had just lost lovers and friends and it was still raging without any meds. Vowing to "buy the farm arm in arm" was and still is the most moving loving words to hear so beautifully sung

Back here in February 2024! We just came across this, even though I did subscribe to your channel at some point. Just this morning, I found myself singing "A Blank Piece of Paper" from MAIL. Oh how I wish there was a cast album for that. The score and show was brilliant, fun, funny, moving. Would you consider releasing those songs now on Spotify? Asking for a friend! Hope you are having a good 2024 start.

He was so fantastic in this. So much energy in his performance. And he just took stage big time! I worked with him once a long time ago. Shakespeare's Cabaret. He was great to work with also. A+++

I was lucky enough to see you perform in Falsettoland at the Lucille Lortel in I think 1992. As a young gay guy this number broke my heart into a thousand pieces. It still does, and I love it.

I loved this song, your performance, (and the nifty stage effect) when I saw "Mail" on Broadway. Any chance of getting a piano/vocal copy of the song, Mr. Rupert?

Weezer is kinda cold here. I like Andrew the most specially in “I’m sick, but kicking” hehehhe. And I totally connect with Marvin here, a man showing his feelings to his lover. Wow! 😔

The perfect way to end the original MARCH OF THE FALSETTOS and Act One of FALSETTOS ... and NOBODY could ever match Michael Rupert singing the part of "Marvin" in those more tender numbers.

The beauty of creating these characters is that the performances look and sound so in the moment. Subsequent revivals, as good as the latest is, are played more like a show, bigger. This technically antique clip still plays almost like a movie. Intimate, organic acting. We were sad because Mr Rupert and Mr Bogardus played against it.
