One of my favourite beetles. I rarely see them though. I currently have one and they’re just great. I plan to look for some of the other Ocypus sp, since I’ve only seen O.olens and O.brunnipes.

Just seen one of those for the very first time in our garden, we have herds of woodlice so hopefully he/she will decide to call our garden home. Great video, nature is absolutely brutal at times!

Hey Mark, we caught a pair of this species with my girlfriend and decided to have a project breeding them. Do you know how should we introduce the male to the female? Should we "gutload" the female? I've read that the male of these spiders bring a nuptial gift to the female and also play dead to avoid cannibalism. Do you have experiences with this? :)
